This is a wonderfull new hotel in Ubud, we spent six amazing days here and had a time of our lives;-) the pool area is unbelieveable, we had the best massage ever in the spa, our villa was gorgeous and exceptionaly clean...
I can not stress enough how kind all the employees are, from receptionists and waitors to buggy drivers, we have never met so many wonderfull people in one hotel...l.loved the fact that there is a lot if western food in the hotel because balinese food outside of the resort is very spicy...
We would love to come back, the feel here is something special!

Everything was just perfect. A special thank you to the magnificent Rai, she made our stay unforgettable by her kindness and her smile, she was incredibly accommodating and always ready and happy to help.
The entire staff members were phenomenal and made our stay a beautiful journey.
The menu could be extended a bit nevertheless the foosld was great.
The pool is amazing however the chlorine levels were high.
The music choices could be better.
Apart from the the aforementioned, everything else was just perfect.

Staff were all amazing, very helpful and welcoming with a smile. Breakfast was super, check in and out was very fast. And there was a free car taking you to the downtown. The room has a small issue and they immediately upgraded my reservation to villa which i was very happy with

The staff were amazing. Wahtu and Nitayani were beyond lovely and made our stay feel so welcoming. The location and views were perfect. If you’re looking for a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in ubud, definitely go to Metland Venya!

The resort is located approximately 3 kms out of Ubud town centre. Shuttle bus into town and back 5 to 6 times a day was ideal. Beautiful resort, we were upgraded to a pool villa, however did not suit our needs so we asked for our original Junior Suite booking of which Metland Venya accommodated and upgraded us to a larger suite. Could not fault the service, infinity pool was incredible. Suite was amazing. Good variety of food to choose from, including Yahcult probiotic drink at breakfast time. The resort is very quiet, something we love.
The traffic into Ubud from the resort took at times 40 minutes, peak time. You need to allow plenty of time to travel through Ubud if heading for the airport. Took us more than 1 hour to get through town and out the other side. Ubud itself was so busy, lots of tourists. No reflection on the resort though......could not fault it!

Lovey clean and well maintained property. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Pool area is great and the spa is nice. Loved the afternoon tea inclusion. Jungle surroundings were gorgeous.
The food was good, but limited variety. Being a little way out of town meant getting alternatives was more of an effort.

The staff in the reception very kind and welcoming and helpful. The photographer took for me amazing photos to make the experience memorable. Breakfast was excellent and service great.
The check out time, i asked to extend it until 2 or 3pm because I was leaving to airport but they agreed until 1pm. Still overall experience was great , I don’t want to complain because of this only.

We stayed in the most gorgeous 2 bedroom villa with our own private infinity pool. Although it was around a 15 minute drive from Ubud centre the free shuttle bus was awesome fantastic service.

Beautiful hotel located in a scenic location in the jungle with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was very tasty and varied and there is also a small buffet, you have to try the acai bowl. The restaurant food was delicious, with plenty of local and international choices. We loved the katsu sando, together with a fresh coconut, enjoyed by the pool. Would definitely return!
There was indeed a strong, wet, moldy smell in the room, but we didn’t really mind it

The staff were exceptional, and the facilities were excellent as well. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, even surprising us with a thoughtful gift.
The location is somewhat far out; however, this is something one can anticipate prior to booking.

We booked in for the cooking class and the whole activity was exceptional and was our favorite pass time during our whole time in Bali this holiday. Eka was very good in teaching my wife and I the finer point of Indonesian cooking.
The breakfast was a little hit and miss, and the private pool was not full enough to be a infinity pool and the room was a little out dated.

The staff are incredible and cannot do enough to assist you. The property is in a beautiful spot surrounded by jungle with stunning views. Food is very good at the resort. The shuttle bus to ubud is very convenient and it is really easy to get a local driver to take you out and about for days. We had a later flight so were able to extend our room until 6pm for 50% of daily charge which was great. Rooms are very nice too and the pool and attached cafe were lovely.
There is not much not to love about this place. We were travelling with an elderly relative so walking to local food spots was not really possible as the majority of them are 1-2kms away - but that was more of an ‘us’ problem!. There are also a lot of steps around the place, but if you are reasonably mobile this is not a problem. May be addition tea and coffee for the rooms would be good as you only get two coffee pods, two tea bag’s and two creamers - that said the room is serviced everyday so that’s a really minor issue.

The staff were sensational, they were friendly, professional and attentive they could not have done more. The location and views were so breathtaking. The shuttle is really useful to get in and out of Ubud. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We took the village tour which was nice to walk around but we didn't get any information about anything which was a shame.

Amazing facilities! Very friendly staff. Good and healthy breakfast.
Dinner options in the Hotel were quite bad, we ordered 3-4 different plates, took a long time to get ready and zero taste. Recommend having dinner elsewhere in Ubud!

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was lovely, the afternoon tea was a nice touch, and the Balinese dance performance was a beautiful cultural experience. The food and beverages were great, and our room was spacious with a wonderful view.
The inclinator to the pool was not working for two days, and we had to use the stairs, which were quite slippery and felt unsafe.

I found the staff to be friendly, helpful and thoughtful.
This felt more like a 4 star hotel. The walls had stains and the bathroom was very old. I found it not worth the price/value.
7.0 / 10.0
The staff were very friendly and responsive. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, creating a perfect environment to unwind. The area and pool were absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. I also really appreciated the afternoon tea service—it was a lovely touch.
While the resort had a peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff, several issues made our stay disappointing and not reflective of five-star standards.
At check-in, we were moved to a different villa without our consent. Although it was described as a “free upgrade,” the new villa had an interior design I had intentionally avoided when booking, and it did not meet our expectations. Upon arrival, the private pool water was brown and required hours of cleaning, meaning we had to wait outside the room for a couple of hours after checking in. We also found a leaking toilet hose, black mould in the shower, and a visibly dirty sofa that we chose not to use.
Overall cleanliness was poor, with clear signs of neglect—such as mouldy poolside mats near the main pool, moss growth, and other unmaintained areas throughout the property.
There were also signs of unprofessional management. For example, hotel supply trucks were parked and unloaded daily in full view near our villa entrance, disrupting any sense of privacy or luxury. The poolside bar was basic, and while breakfast was nicely presented, the taste was disappointing.
These honest observations from our three-night stay are intended as constructive feedback. The resort needs to place greater emphasis on cleanliness, maintenance, and attention to detail in order to truly deliver a five-star experience.

I have to say that the staff are the jewel in the crown of Metland Venya. All staff were very friendly and Tria was excellent. She was our waitress at dinner, service was excellent and we loved the way she shared about her culture. She even recommended a walk close to the hotel which went past rice fields and local art galleries into central Ubud (JL Subak Sok Wayah) Tria and the rest of the staff made the place feel like family.
Walking up from the Ekapatni villas was quite steep but you could phone reception for a ride up

The staff is absolutely adorable, they were very attentive and happy to answer any of our questions. We were upgraded from the junior suite to the venya suite and the latter is spacious, bright and comfortable. The swimming pool view is stunning and the daily afternoon tea is pleasant.
We had quite a few ants in the bathroom, nothing out of control but they were persisting.

First and foremost, we travelled around Bali and nowhere has a view like Metland Venya, it was unreal. Being right in the jungle was so peaceful yet wild.
Rai was such an accommodating host in the breakfast restaurant, when I had food poisoning she made sure I had congee and some ginger tea which really helped. We had lots of great advice for where to go from the hotel reception and found the man driving us to our little villa at night so funny.
Our room had all amenities we needed, even a nice fruit bowl with fruits like Snake Fruit.
The pool is small but beautiful, and the pool staff were attentive, we enjoyed having our coconut by the water.
We also visited the spa where we had a lovely massage – it smelled so gorgeous and the ladies there were very kind and helpful. They gave us free tea too!
The dinner food was not good unfortunately, it was as if the breakfast and dinner chefs were different to each other. Needs to be improved and with a more fun ambience for night time restaurant.

The best place on earth, luxury vila in the middle of the jungle, with outdoor swimming pool and spa. Room is spacious with little balcony facing the nature, huge bathroom with a bath and shower, has everything you need, king size bed and huge TV. The restaurant offers European and Balinese food, breakfast is more than you can imagine. Staff is exceptional, friendly, smiley, happy, amazing. Can’t fail this place, it’s a beauty on earth. There is a shuttle bus taking you to Ubud and back. I would love to go back to this place, it’s just wonderful
Thank you for making our stay more enjoyable, we had a brilliant time ❤️
We loved everything about this hotel

The personal are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel has free transfer shuttle to city center which is very practical! There are some activities to do.
I am saddened to say this but it is not clean and I am not exaggerating. For a 5* Hotel it should be spotless but it is not even average clean. Towels were smelly and have spots allover. We even had the last day a towel with a hole in it. When you enter the room you only smell the mold. It was unbearable. We were so disappointed. They were spots on the fabric of couches chairs which they could easily be cleaned up. The mattresses in the swimming pool don't get removed during the night or protected from the rain. They just lay there wet and smelly and extremely dirty. I was so disappointed.
The food at breakfast was average and at the restaurant a la carte was not good at all and pricy for small proportions.
The hotel has great potential but the cleaning is disastrous and the food was nothing to rave about.

The breakfast was excellent, the service was very good, with friendly and attentive staff.
The travelator was not functioning, so we weren't able to use it to access the pool, although that didn't affect our stay.

Metland Venya was an exceptional hotel. We stayed in Spring so slightly out of peak season. The highlights of the hotel are both the location and the staff. The location is gorgeous, with the entire sitting in a ravine and therefore facing a beautiful jungle on the other side of the ravine, with the sounds of birds and plenty of greenery to enjoy. The staff at all points were kind, courteous, and well-informed. We stayed in one of the villas which was both comfortable and clean. Every morning we would wake up to the gorgeous view of the jungle. We would also recommend the on-site spa which was excellent and great value. It was also delightful to participate in the organized, chargeable activities. Special shout out to Terry who works at the resort who drove us around the resort and out of the resort for some of our activities. Breakfast was superb and on-site restaurants and room service were also tasty.
The free, daily resort activities could use improvement. We enjoyed morning yoga with a yoga teacher, but the other activities were taught by resort staff who - we felt - were not fully trained to deliver a class.
