La Terrace

We cannot recommend La Terrace enough! From the moment we arrived, Mohammed was an incredible host. He met us at the ferry and gave us the warmest welcome, making us feel at home straight away. The room was absolutely spotless, and he regularly checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. One of the highlights was how genuinely helpful Mohammed was throughout our stay. When we went across to the market later that day, he encouraged us to message him if we needed help checking prices to make sure we weren’t being overcharged. This was so reassuring and made a huge difference to our experience. Elephantine Island itself is beautiful and feels like a little sanctuary away from the hustle, bustle and persistent attention of the busier areas across the Nile. There are also some amazing local food spots and lovely places to enjoy a drink while taking in the incredible views of the Nile. It’s the perfect place to slow down, relax and experience a more peaceful side of Aswan. The ferry is incredibly cheap at just 15 Egyptian pounds per person each way, making it easy to get across whenever you need to. If you’re visiting Aswan and want somewhere peaceful, welcoming and authentic to stay, we would wholeheartedly recommend La Terrace. Mohammed’s hospitality made our stay truly special, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Fanastic clean room and great location. You have to chatch a small ferry across but it is quick and cheap. So much quieter than the main side so well worth the five minute trip. Mohammed was great and the room was large and clean. Large communal balcony overlooks the Nile River
