It may be on Spain’s Costa Blanca, but this zen villa feels like it’s nestled in the jungles of Bali. It’s on the outskirts of Denia – a charming old port town. Towering palms fill the garden and sleek stepping stones lead across the turquoise swimming pool to curtained day beds on the lawn. The view is pure tranquillity with a mountainscape around you. There’s a sense of stripped-back rusticana inside with wood beams and stone on display in the open living area. A gaming and study space is tucked up on the mezzanine and, for those that like a little extra privacy, there’s a self-contained bedroom, kitchen and living room in the garden casita. Home truths: *One of the bedrooms is on an open mezzanine level in its own garden casita with a kitchen and living room below. *For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground-floor bedroom and bathroom here. *One well-behaved dog is welcome to accompany you during your stay. *Those working from home will find a dedicated desk in the casita's living room. *The swimming pool isn't fenced. If you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times. *It's just over a mile's walk into the centre of Denia, so having a car is recommended. There is private parking for up to five cars.
