Host & Stay - Castle View

Massive bedrooms and space for all, good location close enough to the front and old town, good spacious lounge and dining area and kitchen was huge.

Could do with some new furniture downstairs as one of the sofas is quite rickety. Every now and again someone needs to go around and tightening up the bolts in the beds as they have come loose over time. States that there is parking on a first come basis on the street outside, this is true how ever it's all pay and display, there is a carpark just opposite which is handy but again it's pay and display, as t nearly £10 per day if you have a few cars( which I imagine you would in a 5 double bedroom property) then it can soon add up. They could offer out parking permits which are free to residents of Scarborough some places even charge a small amount for these, but it's nowhere near the price of paying at the meter. There are plenty of permit only parking in and around the area which would help out the people staying massively. At some point there has been a couple of leaks, not sure if it's the piping or come from next door as they seem to be on the adjoining walls

It was a perfect location for all of us , easy to get to our convention as well . Great rooms , very clean , comfortable beds , just perfect

Nothing not too like

The central location in Scarborough was really great. The house was very well furnished and equipped, with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms.

I don't like to criticise but there was a serious issue with the kitchen floor - it was damp and the more we walked on it the more water seeped out between the laminate floor boards. We suspect there is a leak somewhere underneath the floor, and it needs investigation and when resolved will need new flooring. The kitchen was beautifully appointed but we spent very little time in there because of this - we had damp socks and there was a damp smell which the children really didn't like. We have received a 10% refund because I complained, but disappointingly no assurance that the problem was being addressed.

Location great mid point for both North & South beach, that actual size of house was great for a 3 family's with children.

First impression, the front door is so worn, paint coming off it- really does give you an instant judgement call. However when you actually get in the house it is so big and ideal for a mixed group. The overall cleanliness is not good, marks all over carpets, walls and could really do with a lick of paint and a good thorough clean. Also it smells of damp this did not change over the 4 days we were there even with air fresheners we bought. I would say that if you are a hen party, stag party and are not to fussed looking beyond this its a great place to stay as bed linen bedrooms were clean.
