Wafu Ryokan Uehonmachi

We loved it here. The staff were super helpful and the property was great. Really amazing size for a traditional property too. The staff were worried about the small bathroom but that didn't bother us at all. Great towel/amenity packs, kitchenette, dining area. Close to station and great shopping complex as well as supermarket.

I'm writing my review from the perspective of having a 1 year old. The tatami mat was clean and it was nice for the baby to crawl around. It felt clean which is nice when the baby is crawling. The staff let me keeo my stroller downstairs and carried my very heavy bag upstairs for me.

Its hard to get a stroller into the building because there is a rock pathway at the entrance. There were a lot if items the baby wanted to touch. They are nice items for normal travelers...humidifier, scent diffuser, kettle, etc... but when you are traveling with an baby the bsby wants to touch everything snd it can be dangerous. Because it is a traditional style, there are no high shelves so I had to put the dangerous items in the bathroom, but there wasn't much shelf space too. Also you hsve to keep an old fashioned key. It no problem but when you're traveling with kids its hard to have one more thing to worry about.

Location is good, close to all amenities.

AC system is so bad that you will get sick. It wouldn’t stop blowing hot air even if the room temp has reached its desired level. Ryokan is okay for 2-3 days but it’s had to move around in your knees or bend all the time.
