We had an amazing time at the Sunset Cottage and plan to return next year for our annual girl’s trip weekend. After staying in GOTL for the past five year at other locations, we were delighted and fell in love with the location, the cottage itself, the beach and the view!

Everything was perfect! Fabulous views - literally right on the lake. Great location. We were just .5 mile from our nephew's wedding venue. The strip (shops, bars, restaurants) even a shorter walk right down the street. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Family that visited us (from other rentals in the immediate vicinity) saved this location for a future stay as they all loved it compared to where they were staying! Highly recommend.

There were 6 of us that stayed for an extended weekend getaway and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We had absolutely everything we needed (and more), and the space fit us flawlessly! This house is in a prime location with spectacular views! This was our first time at GOTL and when we return, it will definitely be to The Sunset Cottage.

This home was absolutely perfect. Very clean, nice towels, comfortable beds and pillows. It had everything we needed and more. We came in February when most of the GOTL restaurants and shops are closed for the season. We were in town to watch the NCAA Big East Swim Championships at the Spire institute. Close to the facility. We will definitely return to Ohio in the summer to experience the town.

Had a blast swimming in the lake at The Sunset Cottage, went to The Adventure Zone, Whip'n'Dip, Eddie's Grill, all of the iconic GOTL attractions. The Sunset Cottage owner and property manager are so easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Excellent!

This is my third time staying at this home and it never disappoints! The view of Lake Erie is absolutely beautiful! The house is located right on the main strip, but it feels residential and quiet. My family loves being located minutes from multiple wineries and a State Park.We are so grateful for every visit here.

There is no way to describe how wonderful this place is, even to old Lake Erie pros like us. As soon as you walk in, you see nothing but water! Everything is so well taken care of and so spacious. Great location right on the edge of town so you can walk to anywhere. Our only problem was with the TV - it's not that simple to operate, but we're used to basic cable.

This was the best weekend getaway/girls trip. The location was perfect rite on the lake walking distance to a lot. Even tho it was as off season we enjoyed the winery’s . We plan on making this a yearly trip.

Location is great especially for summertime I assume. Being early March it was a bit of a ghost town but we expected that. Very nice view and enjoyed the closed in porch for morning coffee. We had a party of 8 and the pull out sofa was broken hence a little problem there. I reached out to owner just because we were relying on that couch for sleeping arrangements. If you have younger guests probably not an issue with sleeping on couch but we had older guests and would have liked beds that were offered. I would have brought an air mattress if I knew the couch was not an option. Also, could not find extra linens if we were able to use pullout. All and all, our visit was nice and enjoyed the stay. We did call another number that was listed and left a message about a lock issue but never heard back from them even just to check in and make sure no other issues. So my main complaint would be communication.

The cottage was perfection! We loved our stay and felt right at home. The location was awesome and we had everything we needed for our stay. Waking up and drinking our coffee while watching the lake was so peaceful. The only downside was that we couldn’t fully enjoy being on the lake (January in NE Ohio) but that only motivates us to want to return during the summer, so we will absolutely be back!

The house right on the Lake was absolutely beautiful. I can not think of one thing wrong with this house. Supplied with everything you would need. Beautiful gas fireplace. Many different board and card games. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. I can’t imagine how fun it would to be there in the summer. Thank you for sharing this 5 star home❤️❤️

There is nothing we could add to the long list of positive and enthusiastic reviews for "Sunset Cottage" already published on this site. The entire experience of booking and enjoying this lakefront property was a dream. Our only reservation is that further full-throated endorsements from us will only make it more difficult to book in the future. If your family or group is considering a trip to Geneva-on-the-Lake, you will be missing an extraordinary opportunity if you can't book your accommodations here. As our title says, this lakefront cottage is "exceptional!" These folks have been extremely thoughtful, meticulous, and attentive about providing the best hospitality possible. You won't want to leave - we didn't! (And be sure to make time to visit the landlord's nearby orchard, too! It's a bit of a drive, but the apples - and pies! - are great!)

This was a great place to stay! The house was clean and had all the amenities you would need. The landscape was beautiful and well kept. It was right by all the attractions that GOTL has to offer but when you are in the house and out back you would never know that there was anything going on out front.
