We stayed in the house for almost a week with a group of 4 adults and 3 children. The house itself was very charming, beautifully located and offered everything we needed. The garden was well maintained and the children loved the trampoline, the swing and the slide. The location is a bit isolated, a car is therefor a must have. We have a very enjoyable stay!

A group of 8 of us stayed 2 nights. The beds were confortable, the rooms charming especially the great room downstairs with a fireplace, kitchen , eating area and bathroom. The grounds around the property are beautiful enought that I am sorry we didn't get a chance to paint while there. We loved Christine, she is so lovely and she made our stay very special. . We were lucky enough to be able to have Christine cook for us. The food was very yummy. It was a very enjoyable stay

Compared to the photos on the website this property and set up is very disappointing. The 'grande maison' in the pictures is in fact lived in by the owners. The 'grande maison' you rent is a barn conversion right next to the main house. The land and gardens pictured are also situated around the main house and although we were told the children could play there we felt uncomfortable doing this and being in such close proximity to the busy family home. The rental property is rustic, basic and dusty although quaint. There were mouse droppings in our shoes one morning. The amenities were limited. Some of the equipment such as the dishwasher and coffee pot in the kitchen need replacing. The internet and TV didn't work on arrival and took three days for the owner to fix. A light bulb we asked to be replaced at the start of the week wasn't the whole time which meant reading in bed by torchlight. There were no warm or welcoming touches. Also of note, there is only a very small private garden at the back of the the larger property which is in shade most of the day. We have stayed in a number of rental houses in France and this was disappointing in comparison and not worth the money.

Poor ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This French gite is rustic and has a certain charm. Unfortunately, in addition to the age of the house, the contents were also old and well used and there appears to be a general lack of care and maintenance by the owners. The Internet and TV did not work for the first 3 days of our booking, broken light bulbs were not replaced on request and appliances including the coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher were old and did not work properly. There were no appliance instructions or a user manual that went with the house and its contents. The house is not child friendly with a steep open wooden staircase, lack of private outdoor space and small bedrooms. The rooms appeared unfinished/patched up in places and hadn't been cleaned to a good standard.. We paid for bedlinen and requested two baby cots. We were advised that the beds and cots would be ready on our arrival however we had to make the beds ourselves and erect both cots. The only private outdoor space to the rear of the property was a small concrete patio with two bamboo deckchairs and a wooden table to dine outdoors. Unfortunately it looked onto an unused garage adjoining the property which had several broken windows. In addition the dog, cat and mice had free access to this area. The lack of private outdoor space is a pity given the close proximity of the owners generous and well maintained garden. We were told the children could use the owners garden to play however everytime they played with a ball it attracted the unwelcome attention of the owners dogs. We would have been happy to the give the owner the above feedback however she failed to appear on our departure and instead we had to request the return of our substantial deposit from the cleaner. I would consider this unprofessional. Finally please be aware that the pictures attached to this property on the website are of the owners house in addition to the gitte. I would not recommend this accommodation to family or friends. On a positive note the surrounding countryside including the local town of pont l'eveque was beautiful and we enjoyed day trips to Deauville and Honfleur.
