Studio's Park - Heverlee

Au calme et très propre Amabilité des hôtes Très proches de Louvain et belle promenade dans l’Abbaye qui se situe juste en face

Wij waren hier voor een week. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en kregen uitleg over het verblijf en omgeving. De studio was keurig netjes en praktisch ingericht. De bedden waren heel goed. Een fijne douche. Airco aanwezig. Prima uitvalsbasis om Leuven en omgeving te verkennen. Fijne wandel- en fietstochten gemaakt. Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf in Studio Park. Dank voor jullie gastvrijheid Denise en Eric!!

Niets op aan te merken.

An amazing place to stay in Leuven. While the location is not central, for us it was definitely an asset. The neighbourhood is very quiet. While you hear the trains that pass not too far away from the place, the predominant sound is that of birds and chickens that live in a nearby city garden (community gardens, not sure what it was). The street only has houses on one side; the other side that we had the view of is the garden/greenery. Very close, there are lakes that you can walk around. The flat is very nice and rather well equipped. The owners are about to install the A/C, but they made our stay very nice by providing very high-tech fans that helped us manage during the July heat wave. The green neighbourhood also helps. Some of our colleagues stayed in more central locations, within the "ring", which means they were surrounded by stone and concrete. Each to their own, I'd say, but we really appreciated the green surroundings and took some walks to the nearby abbey. The owners, Denise and Erik, are the sweetest and the most caring couple I have met in my recent travels. We felt welcomed and cared for. We could use the bicycles they provided, which made the distance from the ring non-existent. That was a game-changer, as we did not have to rely on the buses. If we come back to Leuven (beautiful city, very well communicated with Brussels and the Brussels airport), we will definitely try to reserve our stay here. It is worth coming back!

I'd say that the only "complaints" are the lack of A/C (soon to be resolved) and maybe a small washing machine would be nice, if one stays longer. Maybe also the fact that the flat (there was ours, and I think another one, currently not occupied) is on the first floor of a family duplex house, without a separate entrance. With the rather open-plan of the owners' place downstairs, it could be a bit embarassing for some to enter and leave at strange hours, as you actually pass through a bit of their space. Once we realized this, we just accepted and tried not to be too intrusive, but it may not be convenient to some. Or the owners (I am just imagining, may be just my thoughts), if travellers are loud and function on a different schedule. I guess the place upstairs was adapted to be rented out, hence the layout, nothing can be done about it. Still, it was a minor issue, maybe even the flavor of this place, which felt really homey, thanks to Denise and Erik.

Studio zelf was oké

Een hoop info en foto’s van omgeving verderop maar het belangrijkste komt niet over op de site. Het is gewoon een vrijstaand huis in een rustige straat waar ze boven 2 (?) studio’s hebben gemaakt. Je komt binnen via voordeur dus geen eigen opgang. Wij hadden de studio aan voorkant (niks uitzicht over vijver en monument was topje van de abdij (zie foto). Als je in de tuin wilde zitten moest je trap midden in huis af en om huis heen lopen. Daar zat je op grote terras maar wel voor hun achterraam. Twee keer gratis fiets gebruikt. Handig maar niet geschikt voor tochtjes. De ene was rem stuk bij de andere de versnellingen. Privé parkeren is gewoon parkeren op straat. Was ons niet duidelijk dat verblijf boven bij mensen thuis was en dat je niet direct naar buiten kon voelde benauwend. Een nacht eerder naar huis gegaan.
