Comfortable hostel with all you need close to city center

Nice comfortable and clean two-bed room. Towels and bed linen provided. Many clean showers. Great location. Nice shared kitchen.

Breakfast was basic, but totally fine for the price. If someone uses the bathroom in the night, you hear the noise.

Good budget place for weekend away

Staff were fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. The shared space with the kitchen and lounge is really nice and cosy. Breakfast was pretty good with a range of choices and had soy milk out as an option. You can use the machines to make tea/coffee any time during the day. Location is great, really central.

The rooms are very non-soundproof so if you are not a dead to the world type sleeper it is worth having earplugs! We did however go during a very busy week at start of university which is why it was particularly noisy, in general it seems it would be quite a quiet area the rest of the year. Toilet and showers are basic but clean.

Not great value for the money but suitable for a one-night stay.

Location. Kitchen/common area available to use. Complimentary coffee/tea. Clean.

We were 2 people in a room for 4 so a lot of space taken up by beds we didn’t even need. Our room was on street level with a glass/window door opening directly onto the street. Not good for noise or privacy. The shower on the ground floor was not accessible so we had to go upstairs. The toilet on the first floor was out of toilet paper!

The hostel is conveniently located within walking distance from the train station. The facilities were clean and the staff were friendly. The bed was comfy.

There was no bedside light, only a central light and light near the wash basin which meant that any time someone came in at night they had to turn on the main light. It also made it difficult to go to the loo in the middle of the night without disturbing everyone.

Great little find!

The location was great. Great outdoor terrace and lounge area for use. Short walk from the station. Friendly staff. Plenty of toilets and showers and all spotless.

During our stay it was in the middle of a heatwave. Could have used a fan in the room but it wasn’t that uncomfortable or noisy with the windows open. Couple of clothes hangers would have been a nice touch too.

The staff was very nice and polite, and the location is excellent. Common facilities were quite good.

A few things in the room could be better, for example, with individual power outlets for each bed. Also, some parts could be cleaner.

The staff is friendly; there are several convenient places around (colruyt, the train station, printing shops); the kitchen is well equipped; the showers are ok; there are free locker - no need to give a deposit

A lovely hostal!

Really lovely hostal with friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable and basically just what we needed for a place to sleep on tour.

The best deal in town but with some noise issues.

Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Common living room/kitchen and courtyard area were nice.

The main issue is the noise from other guests. I slept OK until 4am but then drunk guests started to come back making a lot of noise. I got very little sleep after this time. I was in room 3.5 and there are 2 toilets located next to it and the slamming of these doors added to the noise.

Super comfy, classy, convenient place to stay

Easy, secure indoor parking for my bike. Lovely stylish kitchen and lounge area. Free tea and coffee. Oude Markt's bars only 5 min walk. Supermarket at end of street.

Staff is super friendly and location is perfect. It's a small walk from the trainstation and to city centre. The beds are also nice and room is okay

It's was very loud in the hostel and bad isolated. My room was next to the toilet and we could here everything from the toilet. The rooms where not very good isolated.

The best place to stay with your friends

- Staff are super friendly. - Very clean and neat - Central location (5-6 mins walk from Central) - free coffee & tea - really comfortable mattress

I hope toilet papers are refilled frequently. After one night, there were no toilet papers in the toilets.

Very flexible and accommodating staff, big thanks!

We arrived with the bikes and were able to safely store them in the hostel for our entire stay. In addition, it was no problem at all to subsequently adjust the room occupancy again. Even a booked breakfast we could cancel again without much effort. Overall, we have really experienced a lot of flexibility, friendliness and accommodation, so again a big thank you!

A shelf would have been handy.

It would be nice if the staff would speak basic Dutch or at least tried to. The halls of the hostel could use some tapestry to help reduce echo and loudness.

Few things to improve

The common area is nice and big, with kitchen tables and a big sofa. Also small terrace outside, easy check-in/check-out.

- no curtains on beds in shared rooms, it's really an easy thing to do which would improve experience much more - no electricity sockets for top bunk beds - no place in the room to store your stuff, there a lot of space under beds - why not to use it to put some boxes at least there so everyone will have some space to keep clothes etc., for now only place you can keep your staff on is your bed or floor - no lights for beds, if you would like to read at night
