Exceptional hosts in an ideal location

This is a jewel, a beautiful little place tucked away just behind Autun Cathedral (but you can drive to it). It is a B&B, so you get a wonderful breakfast. The host/hostess are extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They sent me on a delightful hike through the town and out into the countryside which was *exactly* what I wanted to do. At the same time, they were perfectly respectful of my desire for privacy. The room was charming and decorated with a bit of "Provencal" colored textiles. If this place is available when you are going to Autun, you should definitely reserve it.

A wonderful place to stay! Our third visit there!

Excellent location, rooms are clean and spacious, hostess was very welcoming and gracious. The seven people in our group arrived by bike, and there was a perfect place to store our bikes.

We appreciate the breakfast, but perhaps some fruit and yogurt would make it better. There was only bread and jam, along with the coffee. As bikers, we needed a little more sustenance!

+ Location is magnificent + Charming building and atmospheric room + Exceptional garden + Great breakfast + Friendly and helpful hostess (French required) + Fast check-in / check-out + It's possible to use the kettle in the dining room + Parking near the front door was tricky, but there is still enough place nearby + Wi-Fi worked nicely

– Due to the nature of old building and furnishing, it's a bit more dusty than ideal – It's a bit inconvenient to take a shower in a bath without any curtains or protecting screens without splashing the water all over the place

A beautiful original building with lots of character in a wonderful location close to the cathedral and some restaurants - the hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful

I prefer a room with a shower to stand in, our room had a bath with shower attachment

Spacious rooms in a fine old property.

This is a charming property with spacious rooms. The courtyard is beautiful and when the cherry is fruiting you can pick your own delicious fruits. The location is perfect. Very quiet and convenient.

The breakfast options were very limited but this is not untypical in France.

Totally enjoyable experience!

Amazing building, beautifully furnished (built 15th century!). It feels like living in a castle :-). Great host, lovely breakfast. Ideally located next to the Cathedral (totally quiet at night). Highly recommended. Loved Autun too!

No shower curtain, making it very difficult to keep the bathroom around the bathtub dry. But it seems normal in France to not have one.

An oasis! So thrilled to have stumbled upon it

Wonderful chambre d’hote in a beautifully restored town house, retaining all its historic charm. The decoration and the objets d’arts are superbly understated, the rooms enormous and the breakfast impeccable - what a continental breakfast should be! The location could not be bettered in Autun.

One of the best places I have ever stayed at in Europe!

The location is amazing, so close to the cathedral. This place is also listed in the Michelin Green Guides. The house itself is historical. The garden is excellent! The host was one of the nicest people I have ever met and he speaks excellent English. The rooms are awesome. The spiral staircase is really cool too. We arrived late so the host moved his car so we could park close to the door.

The beds were just fine. Since we were on the ground floor the room was cool enough to sleep in June.

Heel blij dat we op deze zeer speciale locatie hebben verbleven.

Zeer charmant gebouw dat geschiedenis uitademt, het was vroeger blijkbaar een convent. Renovatie uitstekend uitgevoerd, met veel respect voor de geschiedkundige waarde. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst, waarbij gastvrouw ons ook een rondleiding gaf doorheen het ganse gebouw. Ook fijne locatie, vlakbij de vrij gekende kathedraal van Autun.

Helemaal niets ! Om zeer streng te zijn is trappen doen met zware valiezen niet echt heel plezierig...

Toll für einen Kurzaufenthalt

Das charmante alte Haus ist ein ehemaliges Kloster oder ähnlich und hat viel Flair. Es ist sehr zentral gelegen, direkt an der Kathedrale. Im Sommer kann man auch im Garten sitzen. Das Frühstück wurde in einem bezaubernden Raum mit alten Möbeln serviert. Die Besitzerin ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man kann direkt vor Ort vor dem Haus parken. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Zimmer geräumig.

Meraviglioso alloggio di fronte alla chiesa di San Lazzaro. Tipicamente francese, con bell’arredo e un bellissimo cortile interno. Silenzioso anche se centralissimo. Colazione ottima con torte fatte in casa e prodotti genuini. I proprietari accoglienti e gentili. Direi perfetto.

Das Haus liegt zentral und unglaublich ruhig in der Altstadt. Unsere Geastgeberin war sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Das ganze Ensemble hat uns sehr gut gefallen und es atmete Geschichte. Der Wohnbereich war schön und großzügig. Die Treppe zum Frühstücksraum und der Raum selbst waren bezaubernd. Das Frühstück war liebevoll angerichtet, für uns vollkommen ausreichend und noch dazu sehr günstig. Der Garten lag hinter dem Haus und war leicht erreichbar. Er war mit Sitzmöglichkeiten versehen und immer zugänglich.

Es fehlt die Duschabtrennung. Das war nicht tragisch, aber ungeschickt.

L'hôte était chaleureuse et souriante, au petit soin pour moi et mes enfants. Un petit déjeuner copieux au coin du feu ! Une cour intérieure idyllique avec une petite balançoire et des tables et chaises de jardin, le tout en plein centre-ville. On ne peut rêver mieux pour revenir aux sources.
