About this house rental
Let yourself be “whisked away” to the idyllic, sleepy coastal resort of Neßmersiel, to the vacation home “Dat Krebs Hus,” for a peaceful stay by the North Sea and in the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009.
Our beautiful, cozy vacation home is modern and tastefully designed and furnished. It’s also fully equipped with everything you might need for your North Sea vacation: a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and many other amenities are at your disposal.
The house is approximately 80 square meters in size, has two bedrooms, and can accommodate two to four people (plus a toddler); it’s ideal for a cozy vacation with the whole family or, of course, for discerning couples.
Just around the corner is the unique, multifunctional family and recreation center “Sturmfrei,” which we’ll tell you a bit more about in a moment. And you can easily reach the beach in five minutes by car. The house is located on an exceptionally quiet side street at the end of a cul-de-sac. This is just one of the reasons why the house is a real “star” for families with children.
On nice days, you can also make yourself comfortable on your own terrace—garden furniture and garden tools are provided for your use!
The coastal resort of Neßmersiel, serving as the port for the North Sea island of Baltrum, is situated between the North Sea resorts of Dornumersiel and Norddeich. Neßmersiel is a typical and very authentic “Siel” village with a restored Siel gate dating from 1779, a former harbor basin, and a charming glimpse into the East Frisian “Siele” of days gone by. Today, Neßmersiel is a tranquil, small coastal resort with a 25,000 m² sandy beach, a ferry port to the North Sea island of Baltrum, and the starting point for numerous mudflat hikes.
“Sturmfrei” is Neßmersiel’s multifunctional family recreation center, featuring 3,000 square meters of activity space for adventure, games, fun, excitement, and entertainment. “Sturmfrei” offers everything under one roof: a wellness center, an event center, a creative center, a sports center, a dining center, and more. It also features fitness, wellness, and beauty services, as well as an immersive movie theater where you can really feel the action. “Sturmfrei” is set to become what is likely the largest indoor, self-contained activity center with recreational offerings on the North Sea coast. “Sturmfrei” is just a two-minute walk from the vacation home “Dat Krebs Hus.”
Above all, however, Neßmersiel is the central hub for mudflat hikers: If you’d like to experience the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park” up close and personal, it’s best to set out from Neßmersiel on a mudflat hike led by a state-certified mudflat guide. (A mudflat hike without a certified guide is far too dangerous!)
The North Sea resort town of Dornumersiel, with its spa facilities, beach, heated outdoor pool, cozy restaurants and pubs, and shopping options, is located slightly east of Neßmersiel. Dornumersiel and Neßmersiel are jointly developed for tourism within the Dornum-Dornumersiel-Neßmersiel joint municipality.
Dornumersiel has been a North Sea resort since 1990 and features a 70,000 m² sandy beach. This Sielort is one of the oldest ports on the East Frisian coast.
Dornumersiel awaits you with idyllic walks along the Mahlbusen. Dornumersiel also features a swimming beach, a heated outdoor pool filled with North Sea water, and all the amenities you need for your spa stay.
At the “Reethaus am Meer,” which features a play barn, you’ll find a reading room with a library, a fireplace lounge, table tennis, arts-and-crafts and workshop spaces, as well as seminar and lecture rooms.
The fishing boat and recreational boat harbor defines this resort town. Westeraccumersiel—as the harbor district of Dornumersiel is called—boasts the largest flatfish catch of all East Frisian ports.
