Everything was wonderful, we'll definitely be back!

The location was excellent, communication with Dave was great and we loved chatting with Bris at the property - both made us feel very welcome. The property is set back from the street so there is no traffic noise. I was traveling with my dogs and a huge plus for me was the fully enclosed patio and gate that could be locked, so I knew they were safe and secure. The beds were especially comfortable with good quality blankets and linens. Well-furnished, charming and cozy rooms.

We loved everything! I have seen people saying that the bathrooms of the loft were outside of the room so there was no privacy with the neighboring apartment, but this is clearly explained in the description online. Knowing this, we rented the adjacent apartment for my mom as well so it wasn't an issue for us. This gave us our own private, enclosed patio for our group.

Wonder stay in a wonderful city.

The apartment was perfectly located in the center. You can walk to the center in a few minutes. When we needed help every problem was solved very quickly. Thanks for the great stay in a wonderful city :)

Quite chilled spot in great location

Really lovely spot in a great location. Room was decorated really nice and had a lovely ambiance. Very quiet and tucked away. Staff were lovely too! Would definitely stay again

Great staff, great location but not very comfortable.

The location was ideal and the staff was pleasant, accommodating and very kind.

Most of our rooms didn’t have good water system: the showers didn’t have water or they didn’t have pressure. In addition, they didn’t provide enough toilet paper. Lastly, the open spaces are loud and the staff were speaking quite loud (and on the phone) in the mornings.

Great location and host

Location was central, host was super responsive, and having the laundromat right next door was an added convenience

As with many places in the historical center, the building is old which comes with minor inconveniences but Dave has built a beautiful space and is very helpful with anything needed

Basic accommodation with non private toilet and shower cubicle outdoors

Well located, our studio was at the back so you couldn’t really the street noise

Bathroom was outside and not really private, on multiple occasions we found others using it. Also it’s not really a bathroom- it’s a separate shower and separate toilet in an outhouse outside with a sink next to it. Inside the split level studio on the top floor the bed was just a mattress on the floor and with limited edge protection so it didn’t make us feel that safe or comfortable sleeping in it. Also you can’t really stand up straight on the top floor as the ceiling is so low and we banged our head on the ceiling because of this. The floor is unfinished and paint peeling off some of the walls. Overall it is a very basic accommodation which didn’t reflect our expectations from the listing and other reviews.

Authentic Vibes Perfect location 👌

This is a special place. I would call it "Rustic Charm" because it has an authentic raw vibe but also very inviting and easy to come and go. Dave is super helpful and easy going. The street is FULL of little galleries and print shops. Walkable to the best restaurants and food I have eaten in Mexico. Ask Dave he will tell you where ! We rented 2 rooms, my dad's had its own little patio full of huge plants and a coffee station and fridge and hot plate. Our accommodation had a tv in the bedroom, and a mini living room w coffee and fridge station. It was fun to hang out in the communal outdoor space too! The location cant be beat, except if you have a car im not sure there is reliable parking on the street. The laundry people needed more time than we had to use their facilities which was located right at the entrance so plan accordingly if you need laundry, dont leave it to the last day! The style and decor were excellent , we loved every minute and will definitely be back !

The shower pressure in my dads suite was a bit low and the heat wasnt consistent. No parking.

The staff was helpful and kind. The accommodations were good. The location was also good. Everything was clean and orderly.

It would have been good to have hand towels and face cloths, and also some drinking cups.

Great place. It was comfortable, quiet, clean and the owner was very nice and accommodating.

Good stay for the price in walking distance to everything in Centro. The place was clean and quiet. The owner was responsive to our needs, and there is a laundry facility at the front of the location which made it very easy for us to have our clothes laundered.

The shower drain was clogged when we arrived. However, the owner was very responsive to the issue. We alerted him to the issue later in the evening and he responded. This issue was fixed the very next morning when we were away. Thank you!

Great location

We liked the attractive furniture, bathroom, plants, design, and decorative touches. Great water pressure and hot water. The location is perfect in downtown Oaxaca. It's a short walk to many great restaurants and the Zócalo. You don't need a car. It's a fun place to just walk around. The air conditioning is nice on a hot afternoon. The host was responsive. He let us drop off luggage hours before check-in. Even though the padlocked door seemed weird at first, it's nice for 2 people to be able to get in and out without a key. One of our rooms was very spacious. Even though the Guelaguetza festival was going on, the noise from the street was muffled and didn't bother us. There is a laundry business near the entrance where you can leave your laundry for them to wash for you.

I would have liked a bunch of hangers for my clothes, shelves or counter space in the bathroom, bottled water, a king-sized bed, and a bright light. I can't see well in dim light.. I wasn't able to open the shutter in the little window to let more light in. One of our rooms was small for 2 people. I know that metal doors are common in Mexican homes, but the latches were confusing to me.

Great stay

Dave the host was super kind and helpful (even though I lost the key, sorry!). The location was perfect, most of the places are walking distance, and the place in itself was comfortable

The older structure of the building looks really nice, but gets noisy and bright. Make sure to bring earplugs and an eye mask if you’re a light sleeper

Convenient

The property was close to Oaxaca Centro on foot, no need to get a taxi during our stay. There are coffee shops and convinience stores close by and the main mercados were only about 10 minutes away on foot

We weren’t expecting luxury for the price we paid but the water pressure was very low in our room. We also shared the room with some big red ants in the bathroom. The shower drain clogged up but I guess that can happen anywhere. The host was helpful. Overall I think our stay was ok for the money We paid

Well designed and comfortable stay in the heart of Oaxaca

Beautiful room in the heart of amazing Oaxaca. Very unique decor, lots of things look handmade with attention to detail. Room had everything we needed for our short stay. Host was very helpful and responsive and allowed us for a very late check in.

Due to shortages in the area we had no water one morning, but that’s not much to do with the property. Host helped as much as he could to get everything up and running again.

Rambling and interesting

Large rambling property shared with a laundromat. The rooms are large and interesting. Everything worked and it treads a fine line between “designer” and “rundown”. Mostly the former. Don’t ask the owner to book a taxi to the airport though- he will take a cut. Just ask on the street. March 2025 about 250peaoes.

Just convenient, not worth the cost

Location in very good, near good restaurants and Santo Domingo. The room had good AC. Hosts were nice and let me leave stuff in my room for a late dearture.

Tiny windows, the door was hard to lock, one day hot water wasn't working. Entrance to the place seems a little bit scketchy behind a laudry and the common areas are not comfy.

Superb

Location was excellent. Dave and Hugo were excellent hosts. There was laundry accessible right outside. The place was unique and had an excellent vibe. Fridge, microwave, kitchenette, couch with lounging area. Comfortable bed. Everything you need to feel at home was provided.

Hot water took a little bit to get going when showering. For some people, not having a door for the bathroom may be a problem but given that I was travelling solo it was not an issue for me. Had an issue with finding the entrance at first so I texted the host, Dave, on WhatsApp and he guided me immediately. No TV.

Llegamos a la hora previamente acordada con la persona del alojamiento y llegó algo tarde y no nos respondía llamadas ni mensajes y como íbamos poquitos días pues la verdad si perdimos algo de tiempo de nuestro viaje pero fuera de eso todo excelente

Bien ubicado, pero no muy limpio y MUY húmedo.

La ubicación es excelente

La limpieza debería mejorar mucho, son habitaciones muy húmedas y sin luz que requieren de un especial mantenimiento que no tenían. La habitación estaba llena de mosquitas de la humedad, y paredes y suelo sucio. El olor a humedad también era bastante desagradable. La cortina del baño tenía ya moho de la humedad. En fin, que no se apuesta mucho por la limpieza de la habitación.

Céntrico, pero tiene que mejorar.

Su ubicación. Estaba en una calle céntrica cerca de todo.

Sobre todo la limpieza. A nuestra llegada el espejo del baño estaba lleno de manchas y había bastantes pelos en el suelo. La placa de ducha no tragaba bien ni tampoco el lavabo. Olor a humedad.
