Tam Coc Guest House & Hostel

The room is a very good size for 4 people, and they allow us to do a early check in because the room was available.

They don't have a adequate storage room for leaving the luggage in case of early check-in or waiting for a night bus, on a Thursday day we wake up at 7am because they were doing construction on site, the breakfast is only one option.

Lovely staff, and clean facilities. We were able to use the free bikes that they supply to explore Ninh Binh and enjoy their simple, but free breakfast. Very friendly staff, who helped us with our stay too. For £3.80 a night - it was a fantastic stay.

No water refill place. But you could buy bottled water at the property quite cheaply.

The staff was so difficult to communicate with (even with google translator). E.g. there were plenty of bicycles (like six) available but we couldn't rent because there was "no keys"? Why would you have way more bikes than keys to them? Finding anyone from the staff took forever, check in was problematic for no reason. I was under strong impression that they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. Wierd, clueless vibe. Room and bed was okay, but bedsheets were torn/ripped in multiple spots. Not-so-good breakfast (but included in the price, so can't complain) I booked a bus to cat ba through the hostel, got contradictory info from 2 different staff members... On a day before I was told to be ready at 8.30, at 8.30 on the day of I was told that "what, no, why, be ready at 9", then actually more like 9.30. Not a big deal, but you could have told me the correct time the night before so I could sleep more lol.
