Stayed here years ago when it was simple and rustic. Improvements to dining and breakfast rooms are stunning. Beautiful view from our balcony room - worth the extra.

The location was great and it had old hotel charm. We were very keen on the fact that it had a restaurant.

The room we booked was not the room that we got which was meant to have a bath and an outside balcony. There was no hot water at 6am. The restaurant looked lovely and the menu at first glance promising. However I ordered the zucchini flowers as an entree and as there was no description of the dish, I was pleasantly surprised that there was langoustine filling in the zucchini flowers with a beautiful lobster bisque. I had ordered the lobster main which when it arrived looked exactly like the entree except it had very small pieces of lobster in spring roll type bonbons. While it was delicious it was exactly the same lobster bisque and the same white rice dish. So I virtually had two identical dishes. The menu has no description of the dishes at all and I think this is grossly lacking as if I had seen it had lobster in both would’ve only chosen one and had a different entree. The wines also had very little description and the person that we were directed to, to explain a little about the wines knew nothing and had to go and get it out of the cellar to look at what variety it was. And as it turned out that was incorrect. It is not a vast wine list and I think some simple knowledge of the wines you are offering, which we have had throughout France for the last four weeks would’ve been helpful
