Hotel San Michele

Beautiful, clean little hotel in the most amazing setting

Everything was great

Great location in the heart of Tuscany.Breakfast was excellent. All facilities were spotless and the hotel is maintained to a high standard. Paola and Roberta our hosts are lovely. Plenty of sunbeds and seating around the gardens. Great view. Bar prices very reasonable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The hotel had a beautiful view across the Tuscan hillside and of San Gimignano (from some areas). The room was very clean and the grounds were immaculate. They have a number of outside seating to enjoy the view at any time of day or night and with picnic option available. Bar and breakfast offering was also very good. Pool was very enjoyable and not chlorinated which was great for me who is allergic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the sisters are very welcoming and hospitable.

The only negative would be the distance into town. We are walkers so did not mind the 20min walk up.

Great view by the pool, clean and owners friendly and helpful.

We found the hotel quite basic and rooms small but this could be general in Italy. The use of the one toilet in your room and no other toilet onsite was awkward at times when there is two of you and cleaner is your room etc. The electric tripped in the room easily (about 20 times with hair dryer on) but fuse box in room. Round the pool is uneven grass so hard to lay on sun-bed comfortably so not ideal if you’re a sun seeker and don’t mind feeling like you’re falling down a hill. Hotel is out of town but a bus is easy and cheap to get into San Gimignano. Hotel view is gorgeous but near a road so not as peaceful as it looks.
