Downsview

This is a lovely and unusual place to stay in Kent. We live in Kent and so were used to sandy or pebble beaches, it was a delight on arrival to find a beach with wild flowers and gorse, as well as stunning views of the sea. The house is a mixture of modern and old, as I'm not a lover of antiques I was very happy with the stunning modern kitchen/diner which spread out into the garden. The garden is small but beautiful and so we were as happy sitting in the garden as by the beach and would just alternate throughout the day. We had some sad news whilst staying there and the setting and nature helped us enormously. There was plenty of information to help guests and the house had so many helpful finds such as games to play, inside and on the beach, beach towels, an umbrella and a kitchen bursting with equipment. It would have been better for us if both bedrooms on the ground floor had been double beds but that was a personal choice. We were delighted with our stay and hope that we can visit again next year.

I spent ages trying to open the lock box key holder before noticing that the right one was obscured by the bins. It would be nice too if the bric a brac at the side of the house was removed. The single beds were a bit on the smaller side. As an aside to our hosts, we want to advise that the only time our car was fractionally over the neighbour's side was due to their guests parking in front of your home during their art event. It caused us to shuffle the cars several times which wasn't a huge issue, but we wanted to let you know just in case!
