    the location of this place is great and the staff is super super helpful!!!! the hostel was very quiet when I was staying so it is not super social. the only downside I can think of was the smell in the toilet/showers but aside from that everything was great. I recommend this place!

    My 3rd time in this hostel, and now it's my standerd for hostels overall. Clean, comfortable, and most importantly such an easu sense of community to grasp. If you wanna stay by yourself - nobody will force you/bother you, but if you wanna meet people, there's always events organized and just basic common spaces are so welcoming to make connections

    Pros: - good location if you want to be central. If you know how to look you can find many wonderful local places nearby - the alternating breakfast system is a fantastic idea and works pretty well. - I found the bed comfortable - when a sink was broken in the women’s toilets, it seemed to be being repaired the next day - average cleanliness - I was able to store my bag until my late-night bus left - many shared spaces/common rooms available Cons: - the staff were more unfriendly than places I’ve stayed in Eastern Europe. Female staff member in particular did not greet guests when they entered but just barked “Passport” at them; I observed this several times over, including the guests’ faces falling each time from their polite smiles at this welcome - bathrooms are pretty stifling but it’s manageable - furniture in shared spaces (eg roof) is uncomfortable af - it’s purportedly a social hostel but I found it lacking in this aspect. It’s always hard to rate this as it changes depending on who’s staying, but I found that most guests were already travelling in pairs and less likely to socialise. The events marketed on the cork board did not seem to be taking place; contrasted against all the photos of staff with guests, one got the impression that it had all run out of steam. However, this can vary, so… Honestly, staying here made my trip worse. Despite finding some good bars and eateries surrounding that I’d like to return to, the wholly unfriendly atmosphere of the place drove me to book somewhere else when I returned to Bangkok, and I had a much better time there, the staff were so lovely and helpful, and I made friends despite it supposedly being quiet. I couldn’t wait to leave the city when I stayed here, and didn’t want to leave it when I stayed elsewhere. Sorry.
