    They were very responsive via email even before we arrived, they let us check in early (around 11:40am) because our room was already ready! Really love their customer service, they also have a scale for your luggage, just ask them 🧚‍♀️ The rooms were clean, there was a cooler, a balcony, and a clean restroom 🥰 Really like their breakfast options (2 options) too, I like that drinks are included as well! There’s also a nearby 7-11, spas, and the well known resto - Thipsamai. It’s very easy to book grab or bolt in the area as well 🙌

    Unfortunately, since the change of ownership, Excel Hotel has lost much of the charm and authenticity that made it enjoyable. The new owner is trying to make the hotel more luxurious, but the result feels much more impersonal. The lovely little café downstairs has been replaced by an expensive and soulless one, where you may even be asked to pay before finishing your drink. The massage parlour has disappeared, as have the large outdoor tables where guests used to sit and relax. The rooms are newer but actually less well equipped. You also have to ask for the two complimentary bottles of water every day, otherwise you may not receive them. Overall, the hotel now has a rather artificial idea of luxury, but has lost its character, freedom and authenticity. Sadly, it is much less charming and pleasant than it used to be.
