    I have stayed at hostels all over the world but this one is deffinately on my never to visit again list. We arrived after dark and it was completely dark in the house. While the rooms and toilet facilities were reasonable clean (except the kitchen). The owner needs to invest in new sheets and covers without burn marks and just grey and thin from years of use. One thin blanket in dunedin winter doesn't keep you warm . Kitchen was not usable because there were no knives,plates or anything usable to cook anything with. It was filthy and greasy as you can see in the photos. Called and complained but agoda only pointed out the cancelation policy. Not happy about that because they should hold up a certain standard for their customers

    For the money I paid, I could’ve stayed in a 5 star hotel. This was a 1 star… Old, tired, smelly hostel in need of repairs and upgrade…

    The hostel is very bad, no reception, no service. We arrived the Hostel about 3pm 17February. Our room (***) is on the third floor, it is very small, roughly is 8 square meters and in bad conditions. The two beds had no bed sheets, and the quilt covers and pillows dirty and smelly. So, we took time to find the cleaner and asked her to add bed sheets and change the quilt covers and pillows, but far from satisfied. The room had no bedside tables, and no table lamps. We called the manager many times and had no reply. The shared showers have heaters, but we (including other customers) were not able to turn it on. We called the manage again for method and again and got no reply. It was cold in Dunedin on 17/18 February. Because of the cold weather, my wife had no shower; I had a shower on 17February and got cold the next few days. For the reasons stated above, we request a full refund from the hostel while reserving the right to claim compensation. And we will take further action if it is not sorted out.
