Refuge de l'Aiguille - 2 bedroom duplex in the heart of Chamonix

Location was as described, right in the heart of Chamonix. Row of eateries just in front building, a couple of minutes walk to main shopping area. Generally clean, beautiful, self contained apartment. Gorgeous view of the mountains. Main door has two double locks. Makes you feel very secured. The area around the unit is quiet, but feels safe. Neutral - They had a policy for guest to clear out trash to a rubbish collection point few hundred meters away before checkin out. It promotes sustainable tourism, but not too sure all guest will appreciate it.

Driving in first time locating the place was slightly challenging. Need to follow the instructions sent closely. The building exterior looks run down, though the unit itself is gorgeous. 2 flights of steps up to the unit on the 2nd floor. Bit of effort with 3 heavy luggage. Bed was creaky, but comfortable.

Location is the best. Plus parking. You can walk to everything within minutes. View off balcony is brilliant.

Alot of whatsapp messages from the managing agents. Seemed to go on all the time. Hated paying a bond which is starting to creep in. Finding the place was hard as there are pedestrian streets to work around. You pick up keys from the manager which is very close to The room.

Het huis werd verbouwd waardoor er veel bouwstof ronddwarrelde, informatie hierover vooraf zou fijn geweest zijn. De bedden waren te hard.

The location

1) the water system is broken. It only comes out the very hot water without able to turn down the temperature. One of them burn the skin on the first day in the shower. None of them can have shower in the first day after the long flight. 2) the communication with the staff is slow although the office is just next to the apartment complex. When we report on the hot water problem, it was fixed next day only after our constant follow up. 3) the service of the “office” is only 9-5 , they don’t respond to any emergency.
