Pilgrims Nap

Super peaceful, and well equipped for a long weekend of relaxing. Went away with a friend for some well-needed r&r, I think the shepherds hut is maybe slightly more suited to couples, but we still had a wonderful time just chilling out.

The only thing that was slightly negative is I didn't see the messaging around the extra charges for the hot tub and the breakfast, I am usually pretty diligent about these things so was surprised when I came across it later and realised I would have to pay more. I don't think this is the fault of the owner, as she then sent me screenshots showing where it was written (slightly humiliating to be faced with these after asking for details, but clearly not her first experience with this), but I do believe it may have been an issue of viewing the property booking on laptop vs phone. I didn't see it clearly when I booked on a laptop (the 'breakfast' option repeated on the booking.com website several times with no indication you have to pay for it - I've just checked the web view booking again and it's still not clear), but the screenshots I received from viewing on a phone were slightly more obvious. I do think the '(small charge)' note in the description of the property next to the note about the wood fired hot tub is not particularly indicative? The only other small thing was I should have realised there was no TV. Obviously I am well aware that you are escaping into nature, and by no means need the drone of a tv for a lovely weekend away, but my friend and I were planning on binging some well-loved romcoms for the weekend - next time I will bring a tablet for movie nights.

It’s so secluded you really could be in the middle of nowhere. A lovely outlook and a lovely cosy cabin.

Nothing. It’s the perfect retreat from the real world

Not too far away from us time wise,but could have been another world. Beautiful decor and facilities and amazing location.

Nothing not to like

The location was beautiful and private. It was designer decorated. It has a very comfortable bed. It was great to have wood available for the fire. The electric hot tub was nice. The pics show a wood fired hot tub but that’s no longer the case. Electric is easier anyway. The outdoor fire pit was also a treat.

Water pressure was really low in the shower but this should be expected I guess from a Shepards Hut. Some small things might make the stay slightly better such as not running out of hand soap or providing some toiletries like hotel style shower gel. But these are minor things. Overall really can’t complain. Lovely stay.
