Exclusive Apartment in the old town overlooking the sea with private parking

Our host Adriano was very good at responding to all our questions prior to arriving in Tropea. When we arrived, he met us near the main square and walked with us to the apartment. Once inside he gave us a quick tour of the unit. I noticed that there was a bowl on the table, filled with fresh fruits and some famous Tropea onions for us to enjoy. What a thoughtful gestureAdriano was a fantastic host but the best part of the experience was the view from the balcony. It was breathtaking.

We were three adults staying in the apartment. The apartment has a unique location in the old town, with a fantastic view and just a short walk to the beach and the town center, with plenty of restaurants right outside the door. We didn’t use the option to park at the apartment, as driving in and out of the old town is quite complicated and requires a special permit, which must be coordinated with the host. Instead, we parked for free on a street about a 15-minute walk from the apartment.The property is built on the edge of a hillside and has a lovely large terrace, which is rare in an area where balconies are more common. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook for yourself.The host, Adriano, is very kind and helpful. We arrived in Tropea earlier than the check-in time, and Adriano kindly offered to store our luggage and contacted us when the apartment was ready. We also went on a wonderful boat trip with Adriano on his boat, which took us to places including Capo Vaticano—highly recommended.All in all, a very lovely stay.

The apartment location is stunning. It is large, bright and airy. At night you can lie in bed listening to the waves crashing on the beach below. The room sizes were good for 2 adults and 2 grown up children. The balcony was amazing. Tropea is also beautiful, perched on the cliff above the sea. It is full of good bars and restaurants. They offer similar menus, but Ambrosia on via Guiseppe Garibaldi was one of the best we found. Isola Bella is a good bar just on the beach below the balcony and a great place for a sundowner. The off-street parking was useful, but we rarely used the car whilst we were there, because everything is in walking distance. Adriano's boat was out of action whilst we were there, so we did the full-day boat trip to Vulcano, Lipardi and Stromboli. It was really good but be aware that it is a long day at sea and was pretty rough when we went. We also drove down to Scilla, which was another lovely town with a historic castle overlooking the Straits of Messina. It's also worth walking down the narrow lanes in the Chiananlea district next to the sea.
