Case Vacanze " Mare Grande" Tropea

The location is fanstastic, right next to Spiaggia del Convento and directly below the Old Town. Easy onsite parking, cafes and restaurants nearby. Excellent value for money given its location and if you're ok with your kitchen and table being outside (undercover), we stayed in early June, unsure if the prices change throughout the season.

The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were awful. The wifi is quite poor. It can be tricky to find, if you miss the driveway entrance you need to do a 15 minute loop around town again as the street is one way. The location that is provided in the booking app was 200m further down the road than where it actually is.

- Best possible location, literally 10 meters from the beach, just between the cliffs of the old town of Tropea (5 min walk) and the hill with the church. - Parking space at location, which is not possible in the old town of Tropea. - Price is very fair. - There are several beach restaurants (of varying quality) nearby.

Wifi does not work in the room, only outside, and is really weak even there. Otherwise I would love to come here for workation and stay for longer (and pay more).

Location

We were a family of four and stayed at Case Vacanze “Mare Grande” from 10 to 12 August. The property is located in what appears to be a parking area, where the owners manage not only the accommodation but also the parking facilities and a restaurant. For those travelling by car, as we did, having secure parking available on site is definitely a significant advantage. The accommodation itself, however, is very, very basic. The bathroom is quite old-fashioned and the bedroom is small, with enough space for a bunk bed and a double bed. Overall, the facilities are simple and somewhat dated, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly. The greatest asset of this property is undoubtedly its location. The beach is just a 4–5 minute walk away, and the historic centre of Tropea is also within a 4–5 minute walk. This makes the property extremely convenient for exploring the town and enjoying the beach without needing to use the car. In summary, this is a very simple accommodation, but with an excellent location and the important advantage of on-site parking. For us, the location was the main reason for choosing it and certainly the strongest point of the property.
