About this cottage rental
Salty Dog is situated on Blue Anchor Road, a favourite location with Bay regulars as it is close to the beach, tennis court, playground and village centre, but also very private.
Living space
Enter through the side door into the hallway with coat and shoe storage.
To the right is the open-plan kitchen / dining / lounge space with bifold doors to the front deck. The kitchen is very well-equipped with tall fridge-freezer, and all the appliances you'll need for your holiday. There's a smart TV, sofa-chaise and armchair in the living area, and a table and chairs in the kitchen space.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
To your left are the main bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite shower room, and the second bedroom with 2 small singles (can be a king on request). There is also another shower room with jack-and-jill doors from the hallway and the second bedroom.
Heating
Gas central heating, electric towel rails in the bathrooms, and a log burner too!
Outside space
The front deck has a patio table and benches which gets the morning sun, ideal for alfresco breakfast or morning coffee. At the rear is a set of 2 seats/table between, so you can enjoy the afternoon sun.
Parking
There is a drive to the side of the house with space for 1-2 cars.

We had a lovely break at Salty Dog. We don't have a dog, however our two girls love them and definitely loved the theme of the lodge. Kids loved a visit to Flamingo land, we enjoyed a day trip to Whitby and Robin Hood Bay. Lovely sit in fish and chips at Inghams, Filey. Only issue we had during the stay was, due to the heatwave, getting to sleep at night was a bit of a challenge.

We love staying at Salty Dog, it's so peaceful, welcoming, clean and comfortable. We particularly like the comfy furniture, seaside themed decor and felt right at home from the moment we arrived as we've stayed here many times. We had fabulous hot weather all week and the provision of fans was welcome but with the windows and the bifold doors open we had a nice fresh breeze flowing through. The outside seating is great and also the nearby grassy areas for walking the dog. We needed to call Paula for help with a couple of maintenance issues which were dealt with quickly. We enjoyed a walk on the beach to Filey and caught the bus back. We also visited nearby Bridlington, Cayton Bay and Fraisthorpe beach which we'd recommend. We also had a drive to Thornton-le-Dale and Pickering for a change. There are lots of dog friendly places to eat in the area. There are books and maps available in the lounge for help with planning trips out. The onsite pub and shop are handy and we also enjoyed using the swimming pool which is a very short walk away. We look forward to visiting again.

Another visit and we still love it!
Everything you need in the Salty Dog. A home from home feeling as soon as you walk through the door.

A very nice lodge and immaculately clean.All open plan outside so could not let the dogs out
Lovely shower rooms.
We found the sofa to be very uncomfortable and low.
Unfortunately the weather was against us.
