About this house rental
This period barn conversion has masses of colourful charm, featuring beamed ceilings, exposed stone and an inglenook fireplace – and not forgetting its two wood burners. Situated in the attractive village of West Down, where there is a pub and community shop just metres from your front door, it is a great destination for groups of friends or a family gathering, where you can all enjoy both coast and countryside and gather together after a great day out. The 3-mile sandy stretch of Woolacombe beach is just 5 miles away, ideal for surfers and sandcastle builders, and the harbour town of Ilfracombe, with its many individual shops, cafes and restaurants, is only 3.5 miles. Exmoor National Park is another enjoyable option, 10 miles away, famous for its wild deer and ponies, dramatic coastline and rugged heather moorland.
The heart of this spacious property is the well-equipped island kitchen, which is open plan to the large dining room with a wood burner and a comfortable sofa. The lounge has an impressive inglenook fireplace and lots more seating, making this an ideal spot in which to while away the evening with board games or the latest must-see TV series. A useful utility room and WC complete the ground floor, and upstairs you will find the main bedroom with an en-suite shower room, two further king-size bedrooms and a twin room, all of which are a good size, plus a family bathroom.
Glazed doors lead from the lounge and dining room out to the really great garden with trees and shrubs, a small raised pond, and a patio area with a large dining table and chairs and a gas BBQ. Armchairs are gathered around a steel fire pit on the lawn, and a hot tub completes the picture, making this outdoor area a flexible space in which both adults and children can enjoy themselves. Outdoor furniture and BBQ are available April–October.
The hot tub is included for a 7 night stay April–September. A £150 supplement applies October–March and for shorter stays.
