Great aparement, only one problem

The location and view were excellent. The check-in instructions were clear and helpful. The apartment was clean and warm, although the heating timers were at the wrong times. The equipment provided was useful. Books and DVDs were kindly provided. Weather permitting there are nice outdoor seating areas that are lit. The covered car port was handy.

The master en-suite under-floor heating is out of service and the bathroom was freezing cold. Every surface was wet for 24 hours after a shower, which made the bathroom unpleasant to use and led to a damp smell. This has been raised in a previous review. If this persists, it will lead to damage to the property and bacterial hazards like mould will arise, putting occupants at risk. Portable electrical appliances had not been tested within the recommended time.

Lovely location but at this price point I expected higher standards.

Location is excellent. Spacious and light and secure parking is a plus.

Welcome pack is poor. Kitchen crockery and cutlery were dirty (previous occupants fault probably but not sufficiently checked) No bread board/serrated knife and a baking tray would be useful. Frying pans seen better days. Could make more of the gardens- sterile and devoid of interest/wildlife.

We can’t fault the accommodation and location. The management company Skye’s Cottages even though I emailed several times prior to arrival failed to make up the kingside bedroom into a twin for our daughters. The response was an automatic reply repeating of the standard email about accessing the property.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants

Location was excellent. Picture perfect view of the castle from the living area. Apartment is convenient for walking to the local beach and restaurants. The accommodation is very clean and tidy and it was very easy to enjoy during our stay here. Would recommend the Victoria Hotel for coffee, light snacks and evening meals since the staff are very welcoming and friendly and the hotel is relatively newly renovated. A visit to the Church at the top of the village, is worth the time, since it has lots of easy to digest historical information about the village, castle and residents. Enjoyed a hearty beach walk from Bamburgh to Seahouses (approx 6-6.5 mile round trip) and a visit to the Castle Inn there.

The instructions to access the property didn't include the gate passcode, so needed to walk around to the grey door facing the cricket pitch to gain access to the grounds of the property. Then needed to phone the Helpdesk to understand where the safe containing the keys was located. Wifi was patchy at times. Workmen on site, for half a day, wanted to gain access to the property which we refused since we were only renting the property. The accommodation was cold on the first night, and needed around 12 hours to heat up using the electrical heaters. Thankfully we brought additional thick blankets just in case. Though after the apartment heated up it was nice and toasty! There was no soap or hand washing products made available by the property, which was unexpected.
