About this house rental

Friars Rest is a comfortable beautifully furnished 2 bedroom 2 bathroom annexe property situated in a quiet cul de sac on the edge of beautiful Bamburgh village with its pubs shops, cafe, restaurants, deli, butcher, and just a short stroll to the magnificent castle and golden sandy beaches.
Modern open plan with 2 large comfy sofa's a 42" Panasonic tv and DVD, underfloor heating throughout. A modern contemporary kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob etc. Dining table and chairs.
Upstairs the master double bedroom has a luxury en suite bathroom with shower
The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds which can be joined to form a king size bed.
There is also a small fully tiled wet room
Parking and outside enclosed patio and lawned area.
All bed linen and bathroom towels are provided

The property is excellent and had everything (and more) needed for our stay. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The location in Bamburgh is great with the castle and beach under 10mins walk away. The Lord Crewe is recommended for breakfast. With so much to see and do, we will certainly be back!

A welcoming, clean, comfortable and excellently located property, within easy reach of beach and all amenities etc. Shelagh and John made us very welcome and were extremely helpful when needed. We had a great time in a beautiful part of the country and would have no hesitation in returning.

We were welcomed to a Very impressive, cozy annex set in beautiful garden, walking distance to the centre of Bamburgh. Perfect for the Grace Darling museum, great choice of eating places and stunning castle and beach. The property is tastefully decorated, all the equipment you’ll need, home from home and very clean too.

Joanne & Alan T. Lovely welcome from the host Shelagh and a very generous welcome pack. The house was spotless and the furnishings were modern, excellent shower and bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped and the lounge was very comfortable and the garden was a lovely spot for a coffee before setting out each day. The location is great a few minutes walk to pubs, shops and restaurants, beaches and Bamburgh Castle. A great holiday and would definitely like to return in the future.

A wonderful property in Bamburgh

This is a very special property to rent. It is in a perfect location in Bamburgh just a gentle 5 min stroll to the village where you can find restaurants and pubs that suit all tastes. With an amazing backdrop of the famous Bambaragh castle and passing the village green you can reach the most amazing golden sandy beach in no time and walk for miles. Shelagh is a fantastic host and there was a very lovely and generous welcome pack on arrival. The property was spotlessly clean with a high level of quality furnishings with everything you need. The patio served as a beautiful outside space where we could enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine after a days exploring the surrounding areas. Even watching the tennis from the lounge meant we could have the double patio doors wide open looking out to the wonderful garden and creating a fresh and airy environment. We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful property and would thoroughly recommend this 5 star accommodation. We will certainly back.

This is a very attractive property in terms of its quality, location for the coastline, beach or key inland areas to visit, and peacefulness. Bamburgh itself is beautiful and has an excellent Victoria hotel for non-resident dinners but the village lacks food shops.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bamburgh and couldn't fault Shelagh as a host. The property was perfect for us - private, clean, comfortable, spacious and a great location for visiting all the attractions of this beautiful coastline. A big thank you to Shelagh for being so friendly and making us feel that nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely go back.

First class property, with all home comforts and lovely warm welcome from host Shelagh. Brilliant location, only 5 minute stroll to centre of Bamburgh, which is the nicest of all the local towns, plus also enjoys a good selection of pubs/restaurants. Beaches within 10 min walk from property are breathtaking, in both directions. Would certainly stay again and 100% recommend.

The property was modern, very clean and comfortable in a quiet location. It was connected to the owners property but with its own private entrance, and they were very welcoming on our arrival and it was nice to be provided with tea, ground coffee, milk, a packet of biscuits and a bottle of wine on arrival as well.It has two bedrooms one with an en-suite which has a freestanding bath but only a handheld spray, however the shower in the wet room was excellent. A suggestion however would be that a privacy curtain should be fitted to the doors to the en-suite as it is quite exposed.The kitchen was well equipped.The lounge was a good size and comfortable.The WiFi was slow and had to be restarted quite a few times.The property was centrally located for many trips around, and only a short walk to the wonderful sandy Bamburgh beach and it was just a short 5 minute walk to the village itself where we ate at the Castle Inn quite a few times as it did not require a reservation to eat and was pleasant and friendly.It was a very nice place to stay for the week.

This property had everything you needed whilst staying away from home. Modern and clean. Close to beautiful beaches and a short walk to the village. The WiFi was slow at times but overall acceptable. There isn't actually a shower in the main bathroom just a hand spray on the freestanding bath but the shower in the shower room is very good - could do with a better squeegee though! The kitchen is well equipped but missing a colander and non stick frying pan. Small fridge and very small freezer compartment. Comfortable beds in roomy bedrooms. Friendly and helpful owners. Nice garden but no private outside space.

The property was in the best of condition adjoining the property of the owner who was very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location was quiet and very handily placed for the village and beach. (Only small suggestion would be a curtain for the en suite bathroom) - otherwise perfect for this group..

We loved staying here during school half term. The properly is attached to the owners' house, but has its own entrance. Because of that, it doesn't have that "empty property" smell. The underfloor heating adds to the feeling of it being a home, rather than a rental. It is very comfortable and everything you need is there: from kettles and coffee makers to sharp knives in the kitchen and fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The property is pristine. It looks and feels like it's been newly done up. The hosts are very welcoming yet, not in your face. The WiFi is available, but the signal is weak and the speed is low. Patchy coverage in the house. Enough to allow you to do social media and book places online, but don't bank on binging on Netflix. The location is fab: right in the village of Bamburgh with cafes and restaurants, a beautiful castle (book ahead) and stunning beaches a short stroll away. We love it there and hope to be back.
