Decidedly average, luckily it was only one night and we arrived quite late

Location

Communal stairway scruffy, inside apartment very dated, bedroom and bedding poor, two storage cupboards and wardrobe and ottoman were being used as a dumping ground for all sorts of stuff, old paint tins step ladder bits of broken electrical items. The wifi heating control didn't work.

Great for the price but expect some sacrifices at that price.

-The location was ideal, nothing we wanted to see was more than a 20min walk away and during that walk we got to experience the charming streets of Edinburgh. The nearby park was especially nice to walk through each day. -Apartment space was nice and the rooms could comfortably fit 2 people in the sperate bed, no issue. We did not hear much from the other flats also so it seemed quite soundproof. Shower was very nice too. -The owner also kept in contact with us, asking if everything was okay and was very approachable when we called about a missing piece of jewellery. Luckily it was in our luggage somewhere but he offered to send it back to us if it showed up.

-Kitchen Facilities lacked some basic amenities such as spatulas or multiple knives. Also, some of the pots/pans seemed to stick easily and appeared older than expected. It made cooking harder but by no means impossible as we were able to make passible pasta and enchiladas. -The apartment layout was fine but the toilet room specifically was small for us and we hit our knees a number of times sitting down. We had to use the toilet with the door open a crack but that solution could be a problem for some. -When stripping the bed before we left, we noticed stains on the left bed's duvet. Additionally moving the bed to retrieve a sock, we noticed a large amount dust as if it hadn't been cleaned recently. There was also a slight smell of sick in the bedroom but it wasn't strong. A more thorough clean could be nice.

Short and sweet with a comfortable place to stay.

Facilities, full kitchen (unfortunately we were not there long enough to use), large bedroom with lots of light. Large beautiful green space near by!

The security of the main door to the building (most guests didn’t close the door fully so you could walk in without a key) and door to the room seemed it could use some upgrading and the lock was loose. However, we had no issues!

Good location but outdated and not felt not clean

- location is good compared to the city - staff was clear in instruction on how to get in - there is quite some space in the appartement - price not too high

- toilet brush broken and not clean - the place is old and outdated - bed sheets are old and did not smell nice - the interior of the common area of the building felt really dirty - beds were really soft

Location was fine for accessing the city centre.

Advertised as having a dishwasher and microwave in the kitchen. There was no dishwasher and the microwave was rusty and dirty, it was a health hazard and not fit to use! I saw photos of the property before I booked but the layout of furniture had changed from this. It was advertised as sleeping 4 people but there were 2 double beds in one room, both pushed against walls one side. This was not suitable for 4 people, particularly if it was 2 couples rather than a family. Also, it would not have been possible to sleep 2 people in each bed without the person by the wall having to climb over the other person to get out of bed. The advertising photos did not show the floors in the bathroom and toilet. On arriving I found that both of these rooms just had concrete and not proper flooring, with some small mats covering part of the floors. The bedroom and toilet were dusty. In the bedroom, there was a thick layer of dust along the skirting board behind the door. I have taken photos of the areas of concern raised above in case the host wishes to see evidence of this.

Accommodation meet my needs for the weekend

That it was spacious overhaul it was a place to get my head down in peace and quiet. Big plus was I left my clothes in waldrobe and the owner sent them back after a short delay. Many thanks I can see that the property is being upgraded to meet people vacation needs

My preference is carpet. Solid old wooden floor. Kitchen lino horrible to walk on. No tv which was abit annoying.

Good location, prompt response from landlord. Decent place to stay if you are just looking to sleep overnight

Property was not entirely clean, found a used lingerie nightwear in cupboard with some- what looks like used bedsheets. Most of the metal appliances are rusted. Some of the towels were not clean- could find stains.

Updated on: 5.1.2023 - My full report to booking.com is below: The livingston place apartment had a dysfunctional door lock/bed, mattress on the floor, clutter & junk everywhere, no tv, no free parking as originally advertised, awful stench everywhere, dirty throughout, sticky table, filthy kitchen, bathroom is grubby, 1 small towel, no curtains/boarded bedroom window, bed on floor in kitchen with NO curtains or boarded window, plates & folks & spoons had old dried on food ruminant’s. The host stank of BO & arrived late wearing scruffy tracksuit & baseball cap. When i questioned the 'free onsite parking' he drove me around in his clapped out car to search for a free parking space, narrowly avoiding an accident; he suggested i park in hospital grounds - i then noticed a smell of marijuana & asked to be dropped off immediately. This is THE worst place i have EVER seen in 25 years of travelling over 28 countries & should not be bookable. It really makes me question booking.coms vetting process & suitability for booking apartments.

Aceptable

Cocina amplia con lo necesario para preparar comida, tiene lavadora y un área adecuada para secar la ropa de forma rápida. Ducha amplia y limpia. La ubicación es buena, puedes llegar a los principales sitios de interes caminando en unos 30-40 minutos máximo. El anfitrión estuvo atento a nuestra llegada y salida, respondía rápidamente a los mensajes enviados.

Las áreas comunes del edificio están sucias y muy descuidadas, no había jabón para la lavadora (les dejamos un frasco para los próximos huéspedes). El piso aunque viejo, intentaba estar limpio sin embargo el cuarto del retrete (que se encuentra separado de la ducha), era muy pequeño y daba la impresión de encontrarse en un armario. No hay TV. Por el precio uno podría aspirar a algo en mejores condiciones generales aunque lo cierto es que Edimburgo es una ciudad costosa.

Ηταν όλα άθλια. Η χειρότερη διαμονή μου με διαφορά!! Έχω ταξιδέψει αρκετα και ήταν κατά μακράν η χειρότερη διαμονή που είχα ποτέ σε κατάλυμα! Αρχικά μπαίνουμε μέσα στο σπίτι και υπήρχε μια δυσάρεστη μυρωδιά. Πολύ έντονη !! Είχαμε συνεχώς τα παράθυρα ανοιχτά εξαιτίας αυτής της μυρωδιάς. Το σπίτι βρωμαγε παντου !! Ξεχασμένα λαστιχάκια για τα μαλλιά στο μπάνιο και πεταμένα κάτω στο δωμάτιο. Χωρίς υπερβολή όλο το διαμέρισμα καλυμμένο με σκόνη. Ανοίξαμε την ντουλάπα για να τακτοποιούσαμε μέσα κάποια από τα ρούχα μας και βρήκαμε ένα κομπινεζόν κρεμασμένο πιθανώς από προηγούμενους φιλοξενούμενους ή από τους ιδιοκτήτες. Οπότε αφήσαμε τα ρούχα μας μέσα στις βαλίτσες. Στο κρεβατι απλά σιχαινόσουν να ακουμπήσεις αναγκαστήκαμε να πάμε να αγοράσουμε σεντόνια από το κέντρο για να τα βάλουμε πάνω από τα ήδη υπάρχοντα σεντόνια. Μαξιλάρια δεν χρησιμοποιήσαμε . Το ένα απ τα δύο κρεβάτια όταν ξάπλωνες ένιωθες τις σανίδες του κρεβατιού σε όλο σου το σώμα. Το χειρότερο στρώμα που έχω ξαπλώσει ποτέ. Δεν έφταναν όμως όλα αυτά. Οταν μπήκα για μπάνιο άρχισαν τα χειρότερα. Το χαλάκι του μπάνιου από μπλε που ήταν αρχικά το χρώμα του, είχε γίνε καφέ από τη βρώμα. Μπήκα στη ντουζιέρα με παντόφλες επειδή σιχαινόμουν να πατήσω χαμό και στο χαλάκι. Κάνω μπάνιο, βγαίνω πιάνω μια πετσέτα από αυτές του καταλύματος και βρωμουσε σαν ζώο κάτι. Σαν να είχαν σκουπίσει σκύλο πριν. Γεμάτη τρίχες η πετσέτα. Οπότε σκουπίστηκα με χαρτί υγείας. Ναι, σωστά διαβάσατε. Με χαρτί υγείας. Πραγματικά σας μιλάω μη κάνετε το λάθος μου. Μακριά από αυτό το διαμέρισμα . Αν μπορούσα να βάλω -20/10 θα έβαζα αυτή τη βαθμολογία !!
