Prompt, effective communication, very flexible registration process, for foreigners extremely important due to a lack of experience in situations like ours (we were a group of friends, but arriving in Mandello from different points in Europe - the host's flexibility was indeed critical- THANK YOU!), plus many other details....

Recycling instructions, more containers with clear markings, but this did not diminish our enjoyment of the apartment at all. A suggestion (NOT a criticism) : the Wi-Fi password was wrongly printed, but we did manage to figure it out.

Family break

The location is fab. We could walk to the train station, the town centre and the Lido. Also, the information pack was really helpful. It was great to have a washing machine and we used the line out the back to dry everything. Maria communicated with us before we arrived and warned us that the gate lock was broken. This was really helpful. The outside space with the wildflowers was beautiful! It was also fantastic that we could watch the TV in English.

I don't know if this is because it's early in the season but it felt like the place needed a bit of love. There was only one wine glass, 3 rather than 4 dining chairs and the toilet brush was broken. We would also have liked a second pillow. Finally, we really appreciated the clear information on what to do, especially when checking out, but it may be best to remove the word shit as in English this is a swear word and not ideal when you're travelling with kids!

Everything was great, very spacious, clean, great beds, great living room. Washing machine and outdoor space for hanging laundary. Very good supermarket within a few minutes walk. Good swim facilities nearby. Good off street parking

Spacious and free adjacent parking. Comfortable and clean. Friendly and uninformative hostess and wasn’t clued up about transport and access, which is vital given the road closure and poor ferry service.

Mandello has very poor ferry service. The road to Varenna is closed for major recovery work so it’s a 45min detour. So one must train to Varenna. This is a good service. Once we discovered this, the lake became accessible. The town itself has little or no charm with a small waterfront garden and a few benches at the quiet ferry station being the only place to relax. The Moto Guzzi factory does not advertise easy tours or access for the curious, non-biker tourist.

Great value accommodation in Mandello

Maria who greeted us to do key handover was really lovely and even saved us a park outside the building! Communication with Maria and Sergio was effortless, they created a whatsapp group and I filled out check-in information online to make for a seamless key handover :) Maria checked in to make sure everything was okay and was available if we had any questions. The apartment had plenty of space and good basic facilities for our stay. Bathroom and shower were great - clean, hot water, shampoo and body wash. WiFi also worked well. Apartment is situated in a good location. I would recommend staying here, great value for money!

The heating was turned on late so the apartment was cold when we arrived, Maria apologised profusely and the apartment was warmer once we got back from dinner later that night and worked perfectly after that. We found the beds to be on the too firm side (but each to their own!).

Foarte frumos!

Aproape de gară, magazin în care poți găsi tot ce ai nevoie, restaurante, terase. Curățenia și modul de preluare a cheilor. Zona foarte frumoasă, te poți deplasa în împrejurimi foarte ușor cu trenul.

A fost extrem de cald mai ales noaptea. Nu are aer condiționat, asta nu ar fi fost o problemă dacă ar fi avut plase la geamuri și am fi putut ține geamurile deschise pe timpul nopții.

Ruhige Lage, sauber und Parkmöglichkeit.

Die Wohnung ist sehr hellhörig. Balkone sehr klein ohne Möbel, kein schöner Ausblick, man kann sie also nicht benutzen. Das Inventar (bis auf Küche und neueres Bad) ist sehr altmodisch. Man hat das Gefühl, es stammt von einer Haushaltauflösung und erfüllt so noch seinen Zweck. Alles etwas lieblos.
