The location was fantastic, in a quiet neighborhood very close to great Korean restaurants and an 8 minute walk to subway stations. It was clean and met our needs. The shower setup was strange, with a shower room apart from the toilet, but ended up being a great shower. I was worried there would be no filtered water but the kitchen sink has a filter for drinking water, you just have to figure out which valve setting is on vs off. One neighbor approached us while out walking and was very friendly and interested in talking with us. It is a great neighborhood which feels like authentic middle class Tokyo.

The biggest problem was that the day of departure we had to find a place to store our luggage until our departure time, which was very stressful and required quite a bit of planning. If we had stayed in a hotel, we could have just had them keep our luggage, but that is not possible in this apartment. The place is basic--the furnishings are basic and unlike hotels, where they know you need outlets and a place to put your luggage and devices, there was not a lot of space designed for luggage and devices. My husband had back pain from the beds, but he is very sensitive about mattresses, my kids and I slept well. Also we were there in February and it was quite tricky to figure out how to turn on the heat in every room--buttons are not in English. We didn't even try to use the washing machine but that would have taken some time to figure out also. If they had even left clear instructions for the heat and washing machine in English, it would have been extremely helpful and saved us significant time. In the end we were only able to work the heating because my husband has used similar units in Asia before. Also the owner cautions you that if you bother the next door neighbors, they will call the police. That was not a problem for us--we are quiet travelers and we were happy to stay in a quiet neighborhood. Definitely do not book this place if your goal is to party.
