Wayfarers Lodge

Wayfarers Lodge is superb. Warm, roomy, comfortable, high quality.

The person who slept in the bunk room said the bunk mattress was thin/uncomfortable.

The log fire was so nice in winter. Wall heaters in every bedroom as well as a heat pump in the lounge. Beautiful views.

No kindling/newspaper to get the fire going. Had to purchase our own at the supermarket. Didn’t look as though it had been vacuumed before us, especially in the living area.

The location is very quiet, cozy, and relaxing. It is conveniently located near the beautiful Lake Tekapo, which was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed stargazing at night at Wayfarer so do the Lake Tekapo and were so impressed by the scenery that we visited the church again the following morning. The property was easy to find using Google Maps or Waze. Other than that, the check-in process was smooth, and our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We would happily recommend this place to others visiting the area.

However, locating the key box was a bit challenging, as we were not aware that there was another studio nearby, which led us to initially go to the wrong location. As a result, it took us about 10 minutes to find and retrieve the key.

The outdoor space is expansive with great views

It was difficult to find the key and get the door unlocked. There are so many cabinets it was frustrating to look for kitchen items. The walls in the house are unfinished and look like ply wood. The furnishings don’t many the appeal of the home’s exterior.
