Location was fantastic. Very nice property. I love Ambleside.

The listing said the property included parking. However, there was no parking on site, but a ticket was provided that allowed parking in the town car parks. This was not made clear at the time of booking or when picking up the keys.

Perfectly located and comfortable

Perfect location, great to have two floors, each with bedrooms/bathroom. Well equipped kitchen. Parking permit for carparks was a bonus

Excellent

The location is perfect, it’s close to the centre and just a short walk from some of the trails and a very nice park. The quality of the fixtures and fittings were excellent, it’s a very pretty and comfortable house

The lounge is a little on the small side for 5 people but we fitted in okay. The outside space is a little compromised by a yappy dog next door, which is not the fault of the owner and didn’t impact too much on our stay.

Would love to stay again!

This property is in a really good location for those wanting to do activities in both Ambleside, and the surrounding areas in the lake district, due to it being less than five minutes away from two bus stops. The house itself was really cozy, and although we only stayed for a week, it really felt like a home. The facilities are great, and the amount of cooking equipment that was available was very welcome! Overall, Acorn Cottage was a really lovely place to stay.

We only really had a few minor issues with the house, mainly regarding the lack of instructions on how to use the TV or dishwasher. The dishwasher in particular was tricky to use, and sometimes it would unexpectedly turn itself off (we couldn't work out why). The only other thing was that the door lock was a bit stiff. As I say these are quite minor flaws, and the house was perfect apart from these tiny problems.

A great Christmas stay.

The location was brilliant and the kitchen was very well stocked. A great stay over Christmas.

Not much really. It was a great place to stay. Our only very minor niggle was that we stayed over the Christmas week and Sykes told us that the cottage would have Christmas decorations up - which wasn’t the case. All in all though an excellent stay.

Location was ideal and there was easy access to the town although parking was frequently difficult. The accommodation was pleasant and it was a quiet area next to the park

There was a lack of basic necessities such as toilet rolls and hand soap in the bathrooms and more kitchen consumables such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets which I would have expected to find included
