Clean & modern apartment with central location

Great location with parking (although we couldn’t find which space was actually marked for Fairview as the instructions). Clean and modern kitchen and bathroom areas. The flat had everything you could want.

All was great really, the only small niggle is no tea bags, small milk sachets or small pack of biscuits for when you arrive after a long travel. Every place I’ve ever stopped does this, that said, the Lake District seems the type of place that wants to charge for anything and everything, so perhaps this isn’t the done thing in the area.

The location is brilliant - quietly removed from the main road and close to the lake.

Excellent holiday - would rather avoid Sykes Cottages though.

Brilliant location, apartment was really nice 🙂 Very well equipped, had pretty much everything we needed. Beds were super comfy, appreciated the smart TV with Netflix. Loved the outdoor seating area, offered somewhere nice to sit and play games in the sun without finding a beer garden.

Everything about booking through Sykes Cottages! Despite going through Booking.com I was instantly handed over to Sykes Cottages who are HORRENDOUS at communication. I'm still waiting to hear back from them from my inquiries that I made before my holiday (I am now back home). All I got was automated and unhelpful responses, literally impossible to speak to someone. Almost cancelled my holiday because I was concerned about going without my queries being sorted out. One thing I would say is that I was expecting this to be a cottage... And it's definitely not, it's an upstairs flat (albeit a lovely one). The description doesn't make this clear unless you read the really fine print. We were expecting a cottage and was surprised to arrive to a flat. It also could have done with more comfortable/spacious seating in the living room. I went with my mum and husband and there wasn't a lot of 'lounging' area for us in an evening. Wasn't a massive issue though.

Arriving to find the property hadn’t been cleaned and having to wait 2 hours before being able to enter. Also finding the property hadn’t been cleaned very well, a sock down the side of a chair and crisps under the sofa

Well presented, very clean, well equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. Fantastic location and parking on-site, literally 2 minutes to the centre of town. Loved it!!

Amazing location with easy access to the local shops, walks and the rest of the lakes. Nice and quiet on the evening with great views from the windows with the property being on the 1st floor. The property had everything we needed and more. Couldn't of asked for a nicer place to stay.
