Amboseli RedHouse

Redhouse is in an exceptional location, almost completely unspoiled and with a stunning view of Kilimanjaro. It’s a short distance from Iremito Gate; the dirt road isn’t particularly rough, but it isn’t well marked. Follow the signs for Little Amanya Camp from the main road. The property is wonderful, well-organized, and spotlessly clean. The most comfortable beds of our entire vacation! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook (you’ll need to bring your own food, since there’s nothing nearby!). We’ll always hold the staff close to our hearts: we lit a bonfire under the stars and talked at length about Kenya and the local culture! It was truly wonderful!

The location close from Amboseli and Masai village , the house , the hospitality of our host Kelvin and kindness of James , always here to help and give advice for a wonderfull stay ! Perfect for a family !

Todo. Tanto la cercanía con la entrada al Parque Amboseli, las dependencias de la casa, la vista al Kilimanjaro, fueron excelentes. Pero mayormente la amabilidad y disposición del personal que nos recibió (James fue muy agradable y profesional). Quiero destacar a Jackson, el gentil y sonriente Masai que oficia de hombre de seguridad. Jackson merece un reconocimiento especial. La verdad, nos habríamos quedado mucho más tiempo y esperamos regresar pronto para alojarnos sin el apuro de esta oportunidad. Felicitaciones The Red House, lo están haciendo muy bien.

El camino secundario desde la carretera, destruye cualquier espalda humana y los amortiguadores de cualquier vehículo. Pero eso no depende de The Red House sino del gobierno local o del Parque Nacional que deben mantener los caminos.

Redhouse is competing with accommodations inside Amboseli Game Park, & there's no doubt Redhouse is cheaper. They're also trying to run their guesthouse completely off-grid, & doing an admirable job of that. The beds were comfortable, the living & dining spaces were nice, & the WiFi is Starlink, so generally excellent. Kelvin, who runs the show, is extremely friendly & tries to make sure that everything works.

I expected more for US$300 for 4 adults, although that price was considerably lower than anything inside the park. When we were there the (solar) hot-water system wasn't working well, but if you showered before dark it was OK, if a bit rustic. We were promised breakfast, but all that actually arrived were 2 eggs each, & we had to cook them. There was no way we could organize box-lunches for while we were in the park (so bring your own supplies), & dinners had to be taken next door (at $20 each).
