The Blue Bird on The Beach

Close to the beach in a pet-friendly neighborhood. Wonderful air conditioning and ceiling fans. Beach chairs and coffee provided! Peaceful and pleasant.

We enjoyed our stay here and would consider doing it again. The greatest concerns were regarding: 1. We didn’t get check in details (entry keys, parking instructions, passwords, etc) until 3.5 hrs after check-in time. I had to reach out to the host to get them after they were never delivered when promised. 2. Only being given 1 parking pass for a unit that allows 2 cars and we had 2 cars. Added worry throughout the trip of getting a parking ticket or tow bill. 3. There was no fob to access the pool on site. 4. The host was responsive and pretty quick, but it was evident there was a lot of scattered details (using copy/paste templates that belong to other properties they manage). It made some discussions unnecessarily confusing. Overall a nice stay, but the extremely delayed check in instructions email and only having 1 parking pass were hard to overlook. The rest is more for future considerations.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and vry close to the beach. However, the apartment needed a great deal of work. 1) The air conditioner is on its last leg. The apartment was so humid that my metal head band rusted and I noticed that other things in the apartment were rusted. Everything was wet feeling and bathing suits wouldn't dry. 2) The mold in the wainscot in the shower has black mold which every dangerous. There was also mold in he shower and on the curtain. 3) There were no stoppers in the bathv sinks or tub. 4) The blinds in the bedroom were broken. This was mentioned in in a previous review that I missed from 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, they have not yet been fix. People in the cottages behind can see straight into the room. 5) As mentioned in another review, the towels and bedding were old and worn out. 6) I tried to use the dryer, but it did not work, so much for drying anything. 7) Communications were hit or miss. I emailed about the blinds no response. Emailed about the pool, I got a response. Emailed about another issue, but I didn't hear back. However, we did receive several emails about what we needed do before we checked out. 8) Although we pay a cleaning fee, we were required to wash the dishes, and take out the trash. I don't think we will come back to this property again. The upkeep was not to standard.
