The worst bed ive ever tried to sleep in .....

The bed was very bad didnt sleep well and the place looks far nicer in the pictures but it wasnt expensive so you get what you pay for i suppose .

Perfect for a couple of nights in Halifax.

Cosy little apartment, ideal for a short stay, close to town. Didn't really use the kitchen but it all looked decent. Bed was comfy and no complaints from us thanks!

Underwhelming and over priced.

Location and ease of access

The apartment was clean, but very tired. For £90 I expected much more. The adapted property didn’t feel particularly safe. I could hear other guests.

Tired and a bit scruffy.

The location

The communal areas were grubby , the apartment was tired with chipped paintwork, the furniture paint was coming off, there was a big stain on the ceiling, also no pillow protectors, there was litter on top of the wardrobe, the top of the wardrobe and fridge were covered in a thick layer of dust.

Great stay

Fab location and very central, short walk 15 mins to bars restaurants and The Peace Hall , room more than adequate and very comfy bed , host more than informative and great set up ie.. easy to access property with fab instructions to boot

Good location, reasonably priced Bed was comfy,

The whole place was dirty and unloved. Carpets on the stairs, the fridge were filthy, a hole in the Lino in the kitchen. You had to go out of your room to make a cup of tea!! Just put the tea/coffee making facilities in the room rather than having that big kitchen that was dirty! There was a coffee splash all up the wall behind the bedside table. The carpet needed cleaning and the room needed redecorating.

Excellent location for the Piece Hall, car parks a short walk... Accommodation was adequate for one night, clean and comfortable with Separate private kitchen. Would recomend and use again.

Great for a couple of nights

The room was spacious and great if you were staying a couple of nights. Private kitchen was secure and good sized with plenty of cupboard and fridge/freezer space. It even had a cute little breakfast bar. It’s also very close to the action but not so close that you hear all the noise in the night. Weatherspoons is only a 7 minute walk away.

The walls are paper thin so we could hear next door arguing for a quite a while on and off which was a shame and obviously meant they would be able to hear our conversations too but other than that it was lovely.

Not up to expectations

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was functional and clean

Unfortunately the apartment didn't live up to the expectations from seeing the pictures. The first impression always counts and the grubby state of the carpet on the stairs wasn't what I expected at all. The main room although functional was a lot smaller than the pictures made ut appear. With the kitchen being a separate locked room although laid out and functional was just odd that it was locked

Great location needs a proper clean

It was a good location

Cooker filthy general cleanliness poor. The steps and entry to the property looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while very dirty. The bed was cheap and uncomfortable and there seemed to be a lot of bodged fixes

Unprofessional

The property has people living there who are not quiet. There is no security to the property and people come and go as they please. It’s very loud with construction work next door at 8 am after a long shift at the hospital, when bringing this up with the host they marked me as a no show so I couldn’t review and ignored all of my messages. I have many friends stay here as I work at the hospital near by so I will make sure if they have no already to review and avoid!

Was unable to stay due to construction work that was not advised the host just canceled my booking and is now ignoring me! I’ve been in touch with Booking.com and if it’s not resolved, I will just claim the money back from the bank, but if you was unable to do this, just please do not trust this host. They are definitely not professional.

Location great, parking not !

Location was great for the Victoria Theatre/Piece Hall and shops.

Main issue was the parking - advertised as "On site, £3/day". In actual fact, on site meant "On the road-side of a rat-run, minimum stay of 4hrs @ £4, and no return within a specified time" - We were travelling in the car and on-site parking was very important, and the only reason I booked this apartment. Completely misleading and if you are considering booking this property and requiring parking, bear this in mind and make sure you fold your wing mirrors in !

Good and bad things while staying at this property

Great place to stay if you are going to the victoria theatre Wetherspoons near theatre for something to eat Parking outside property is not to dear to park Plenty of tea and coffee and milk for our stay Lovely cosy room with your own well equipped kitchen Asda shop at petrol station near by

Dishes draining rack was filthy and I had to wash it before I could wash my dishes. Kitchen flooring was ripped and coming away from the floor, Very dirty large pipe at the side of the toilet and toilet brush holder was very rusty.

Basic but ok

Paintwork could use a touch up. Staff quarters upstairs and there was movement from around 3:30am which kept me up. Also unsure if another guest or upstairs but someone kept talking possibly on the phone on and off from this time too

Passable but not great

Location was good but on a busy road, we were at the back so the street noise was ok. You can hear quite a lot of noise from the other apartments though.

The kitchen and bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly enough. Crumbs all over the kitchen countertop and the fridge hadn't been wiped out. Dirty glasses left out too. We only made a coffee, so that was ok but the bathroom, especially the toilet, was not cleaned well at all. The basin tap still had toothpaste from the previous visitors on it and I won't describe the outside of the toilet base. For the price it was passable. Would we stay again? No.

Well located for work, but a bit noisy

The room was a good size and had good facilities

Some things outside of the hosts control like road noise, noise from other residents were both pretty bad. Had me awake until after 3am. There is nothing the host can do about that. The only other minor change I would suggest is putting a small sofa in the room. The chairs look nice but aren’t really that comfy for an evening in the room.

Just adequate

Central property, hot water.

Nowhere to put towels in bathroom. No hooks for anything there. No shelf or table for toilet bags. Light round mirror not working. No chair in bedroom. Just wardrobe, and TV which was not working. Bedding needed replacing. (Bobbly) pillows poor.there was a kitchen off corridor for use. But this could not be called an apartment.

The room was very clean and the shower facilities were good.

I was disappointed that I had to pay to pay my car for the duration of my stay, this added to my holiday expenses. There were no cooking facilities apart from a microwave. The person who had the room above me, kept me awake until past midnight every night. it wasn't music or anything like that, but just generally moving around was noisy. Other people coming and going out of the building continuously slamming their room doors and the front door.

Ok for one night, poor soundproofing definitely an issue.

East to find and access, room pleasant. Good bathroom. Clean and tidy. Parking available.

Poor sound insulation between apartments. Complete lack of utensils in kitchen. Separate kitchen awkward to use door through from bedroom would be better.

Disappointed !

It was clean inside, the bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size. On reflection it was reasonable value for money. There isn't anything more to praise I'm afraid.

So the front door was difficult to open, had to almost lift the door with the handle to get it back over the threshold. There was a leak in the ceiling on the stairs. TV didn't work and the shower was not the greatest. Didn't like that the kitchen was across the hall but via another locked door. The picture on Booking.com was not the room I stayed in, was a bit dated. I would not stay here again
