About this house rental

CITY ID#:001996

The Hacienda, designated a Palm Springs Class 1 Historical Site, is truly special and distinctly unique. Its character and architectural detail have been remarkably preserved.

The hallmarks of Spanish Revival style are evident in the beautiful living room with a tall cathedral ceiling with exposed and stenciled wooden trusses, original iron chandeliers, and a stone fireplace. This is the heart of the home and you’ll find a TV and plenty of seating areas.
Just outside is a veranda with an open beam ceiling, a dining table, and lounge seating that looks out over the gardens and the pool.

The dining room has seating for 8 and opens to the front courtyard. The large updated kitchen is designed for preparing meals for large groups and includes two ovens, a gas range, and a peninsula with bar counter seating. The kitchen opens to a plaza with a fountain, comfortable seating areas, a dining table, and a grill.

The formal entrance to the primary bedroom starts in an ante-room which includes seating facing a fireplace, a wet bar, and a desk looking out over the South Lawn. In the bedroom, you’ll find a king bed, a comfortable seating area, a desk, and a TV. The ensuite has a vanity with two sinks, a jetted tub, a walk-in shower, and two water closets. The room opens to a grand terrace of herringbone-patterned brick overlooking the South Lawn that features private arbors with benches and a lighted pickleball court!

An interior arcade gallery, which overlooks the front courtyard, leads to 2 guest bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has an ensuite; one with a tub/shower combo and the other with a step-in shower. Both bedrooms are comfortable and bright, looking out to the gardens.

The Chauffeur Suite, just off the kitchen, has a king bed, desk, sitting area, and ensuite with tub/shower combo and access to the front courtyard and the Plaza. On the Plaza is The Casino Casita. This incredible family space with an open beam vaulted ceiling features a huge fireplace, a game table, and plenty of comfortable seating. The adjoining bedroom has a king bed and an ensuite with a step-in shower.

Up a stone staircase in the courtyard, there is a private guest suite with beautiful views of the mountains. This large comfortable space has a queen bed and windows on three sides providing tons of natural light. The ensuite has a step-in shower.

We have stayed at several places over the years. This was the best! The house was well appointed with great sized bedrooms. The casita was huge. We really enjoyed the pickle ball court as well as the pool. The house cost more than we would have liked to pay but so glad we did.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed Hacienda Ramona. We swam, lounged in the shade of the terrace or down by the pool, played pickleball, watched the derby, enjoyed the large living room with massive fireplace in the cassita, walked to town multiple times for dinner or shopping, hiked nearby. Lars responded quickly and was very helpful. All in all, a wonderful stay.Advice to future renters... there's only one fridge so we were glad we brought coolers to keep drinks cold. The kitchen is smaller than expected given the scal of the house but very well stocked and we cooked in it easily. Everything worked well so no complaints

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very big and in a great location near downtown. Check in and check out was very easy. However the house is in need of a lot of love. Bathrooms were not functioning correctly, the sprinklers went on multiple times a day making the yard a muddy mess and unusable.
