Independent property
The broken shower, zero water pressure that kept going freezing cold, the heating was very bad therefore it was freezing cold, the extra bed had a dip in the middle, there was only 2 rolls of toilet paper which led us to buy more, very poor quality for price, conditions too strict, mold in the bathroom curtains and window area

Bed was comfortable check in was easy and location was great price was reasonable for the stay and location along with amenities provided the photos matched the property and the ability to watch netflix and YouTube on the TV was great
Strange stain on the bedding which we ended up having to wash before we could sleep with it the bed was also quite noisy every time you rolled we could hear it squeeking.
All the utensils we went to use were also a little bit dirty so we had to wash them again before using
The fire alarm went off due to a guest on the floor below us burning something luckily no fire as the alarm could not turn off without the owners using the key. We tried to contact them multiple times before eventually getting so frustrated with the noise that me and my partner had to call the fire brigade to come turn it off. We also had a bit of an issue trying to get the heating to work as it would constantly lower itself or turn off

We really liked the location, and the apartment looked exactly like in the pictures.
The main thing that bothered us the most was the heater. When we arrived, it was 14 degrees inside the apartment. We tried many times to turn the temperature up, but it didn’t work, and we were freezing. There was also a slightly strange smell when we first came in, but it disappeared after a while. However, the low temperature in the apartment was a real struggle for us. The highest temperature we were able to reach was only 16 degrees.

It was clean and had the potential to be a good accomodation if the company would focus on delivering good customer service and not just prioritise profits!
The biggest let down was the fact that you could not get in touch at all with staff from the company! The only way of communicating was through the message option on booking.com, but even there you would get automated messages. If you call, no one responds. If you message the number their provide, no on answers. So good luck getting in touch with anyone if you experience issues, which we did. The central heating was not working so for a whole night we had to rely an electric heater while it was 0 degrees outside! You can imagine the frustration of trying to get in touch with someone when you are faced with this. We had to contact booking.com customer service to get help, and even they couldn't reach the company at all. Luckily, they ended up changing our check out date and we got a refund for the remaining nights and booked different accomodation in town.
There were other minuses too. The shower was barely working, the furniture was so cheap it was falling apart, and the apartment felt clinical and not cosy at all. Like I said, you can tell they care more about making easy money without putting any care in customer service nor experience.
Book at your own risk. If you don't experience issue, it can be a good enough accomodation. If you do, good luck getting in touch with anyone.

All kitchen utensils are supplied.
There was shampoo, conditioner, soap and towels which was nice.
Couldn't cancel a date without losing all monies, so moved it from July '25 until January '26.
The shower stopped working after 30secs, I did leave a voice mail but didn't hear back.
The next day it worked but wasn't warm.
The bathroom extractor fan makes a constant extremely loud unhealthy noise.
The iron leaks hot water.
Had no idea how to operate the plug in electric counter stove, no instructions anywhere so couldn't make the dinner we had planned.
Cushion on the sofa had a big dirty mark on it.

The apartment was clean and well maintained. Great location and free parking.

Room on second floor (in duplex) was lovely and spacious. Kitchen was practical and most utensils were there, though spatulas were grubby. Heating was easy to operate abd so accommodation was warm. Cupboard with cleaning equipment and lamps was good. Security into main building and our apartment door were very good.
Not enough linen and hard to get hold of staff due to seasonal holiday and weekend. No keys for locks on windows. We had to maneuvered ariel for TV (like in the old days) and only had bbc stations - not smart TV.
Lots of general wear and tear and unfinished work to be done (ie. Toilet roll holder, cupboard door in bathroom).

I requested a quilt as the heater wasn’t working properly and was told it will cost £25 gbp for the quilt, when none was provided and with the ridiculous climate control in the apartment - this was shameless.

Nothing, would not recommend
The place was freezing, with the heating not working. We tried to turn the heating up as directed by the instructions given, but nothing happened! Asked other staying at property, who also said their heating was not working. The mattress on the bed was also awful, with 2 very bad nights sleep. Would definitely NOT recommend this property.

I couldn’t get into the building as the code given was incorrect - I called the host 11 times over the course of an hour and eventually at 7:30 at night gave in and had to check into a hotel. I tried calling, emailing the company multiple times over the following days - no one got back to me. I am seeking a full refund - I had to spend £85 a night on a hotel for the 3 nights I was in Manchester.

Good facilities and nicely fitted out a home from home. Good email communication to provide entry instructions. Worked really well for what I was doing. Will use again.

The main lounge/kitchen area was spacious with high ceilings.
Very basic. Fixtures and fittings broken and cheap. Bedding insufficient - very thin duvet. Not a nice neighbourhood. Sparse and not very homely but advertised as home away from home!

Easy check in.
Only received code for check in exactly to the minute. The bed wasn't clean and had someone else's earplug in sheets, the shower wasn't very clean either, the kitchen facilities weren't great either and there wasn't any cooking oil. The sofa was really uncomfortable, We paid extra for late check-in and was woken up by the cleaner at 10am who obviously hadn't been made aware of this.

The kitchen/ living space was nice and well
laid out. Stocked with good range of kitchen wear and utensils. I think the property is haunted. I captured a video of me communicating with a spirit through the light. It was fantastic.
The Cups for a cup of tea was very small

Unclean black mould in the fridge and shower, very noisy and uncomfortable bed. Smelt like damp. Dirty mop left out. Inaccurate amount of kitchen wear then listed. Disappointed overall. Plus had to pay extra on the day security fund which was excessive £30 none refundable or £99 refundable after 14 days.

The bed was heavily stained in both sides of mattress and the couple of the slates in bed were missing , above us must of had children and until midnight they were banging in the floor above us

Easy self check in process, although I didn’t understand why it really has to be straight at 3 PM. 10-15 minutes before can do better.

The missing door between the room and the living room.
A dodgy area on the carpet/floor between the room and the living room, where you stab your foot into something I couldn’t actually identify.
The bathroom radiator seems not to work. At least myself I couldn’t manage to turn it on and there are no clear instructions how to do so. The red bottom on it, didn’t work.
The spare bed in the living room cuts a lot of the space, so I’m not pretty sure that the property it’s actually suitable to accommodate three people.

It’s a big space, definitely enough to have a few people over to get changes or for breakfast. The bed is pretty comfy and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped
Kettle was broken, notified as soon as I noticed and didn’t get replaced/fixed during my stay so no coffee for me! Random pen nib jammed in socket in kitchen. Overhead single light in bathroom makes you look horrendous in the mirror, some forward facing lighting for the mirror would be nice as it is a good size mirror

Location was good for what we needed but everything else was poor
Stench of cannabis walking in from another flat. Broken slats on bed making it uncomfortable and uneven. Very worn pans and utensils and cups/plates/cutlery unclean. Generally very worn and tired apartment needing TLC

The flat had just what you need and everything worked just as you needed. Was great to have tea and milk.
There was a lack of kitchen towel/paper which was a shame. The shower and inside of the cupboards could have done with a more thorough clean but it wasn't the worst.

Instructions were very easy to follow for checking in and out. Apartment was very cosy and well presented for us on arrival. Privacy was great and felt safe with the code system at the door. Plenty appliances and utensils to use. My favourite part was a fan in the bedroom and lounge area! So easy to get to the city centre and the heating instructions were very useful. Some for the hob would have been great as we couldn’t figure out how to unlock it. Very great experience from booking to check out. Netflix on the tv was fantastic and so close to shops. I appreciate how private the experience was, I did feel like a home from home.
I wanted to clean up before check out, clean the surfaces and hoover but no cleaning product to available, bought some from the shop but didn’t feel like I left the apartment as I found it. A lamp in the bedrooms would have been nice for relaxing at night, the main lights are bright which is great, just not for night time.

The bed was absolutely revolting: covered in hairs, with bobbled sheets and a noticeable dip in the middle, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. To make matters worse, the pillow had a suspicious white stain on it — clearly it hadn’t been cleaned, which is completely unacceptable. I had no choice but to clean the sofa myself and sleep there instead.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, I was rudely awakened at 5:50am by the blaring sound of the fire alarm. After evacuating the building, it became clear that no one had bothered to call the fire brigade — I had to do it myself. When they arrived, they inspected the building and informed us the alarm was likely triggered by someone vaping indoors. Completely avoidable and dangerously mishandled.
I attempted to get some rest afterward, but the noise from the apartment above made that impossible. It sounded like someone was stomping directly on the ceiling above my head — absolutely relentless.
The cleanliness of the apartment was downright appalling. The floor was sticky and visibly dirty, and the bathroom was so filthy and unhygienic I refused to use it. I ended up having to shower at a family member’s home because it was just that bad. I had to buy Zoflora to spray the toilet, sink and surfaces so I could at least use those at a minimum.
I tried to contact Pillo Rooms multiple times via both phone and email (as listed on their website) to request a re-cleaning, but was met with complete silence. They didn’t bother responding at all, leaving me no option but to escalate the situation to Booking.com and file a formal complaint.
This property was a health hazard, a sleepless nightmare, and a total waste of money. Avoid at all costs — do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else.

The duplex layout was nice and different.
The bathroom had an unbearable odour upon check-in, indicating it wasn't cleaned to standard. There was also a shortage of essential toiletries. Thankfully, customer service was very helpful and responsive. They promptly arranged for a cleaning operative to address the issues within a couple of hours, replenishing toiletries and cleaning the bathroom. Following this, maintenance attended to secure the toilet seat.

The location for where I needed to get to and the apartment, once inside, was clean.
The hallway and stairs were messy and the carpets were worn out. There was an appliance in the apartment that kept making a loud whirring sound and disturbed my sleep. All the taps in my apartment were loose and moving about and the water got extremely hot very quickly. Usually there would be a caution sign informing guests that the water gets very hot.
