Communication with the host was great and the caravan had a cosy feel at first glance, but unfortunately the accommodation was not safe or suitable for our family, especially with two young children. The biggest concern was the lack of basic safety equipment. There was no carbon monoxide alarm and no smoke alarm, even though the boiler was showing a “SERV” fault message. These are legal requirements, so this made us feel very uneasy. I tried to report this to reception but couldn’t get through. Once we settled in, we noticed several other issues. Many fittings were loose or damaged including a detached smoke alarm base, cracked wall panels, and exposed screws and nails that were dangerous around children. The radiators and towel rail were rusty and grimy, and the flooring near the bin was stained and worn. Cleanliness was another major problem. There was a strong dog smell throughout the caravan that never went away. Pillows had a very unpleasant odour, mugs were dirty on arrival, and the oven tray still had grease and food residue. The bedding and mattress protectors had stains, and underneath the seating area there was old dirt and debris. Even the vacuum cleaner provided was completely full of dust and hair and didn’t work until we emptied it ourselves. The bins also had rubbish left from previous guests. Altogether, the lack of safety measures, the poor condition of the fittings, and the overall cleanliness issues meant we couldn’t relax or feel comfortable during our stay. It’s a shame, because the caravan has potential and the host communicated well, but in its current state it isn’t suitable for guests, particularly families with young children. I have sent all photo and video evidence of these issues to the owner, but I am yet to receive a reply.

Wouldn’t recommend. Disingenuous owner, smoke alarm missing, & strong unpleasant smell.

Location was ideal.

The smoke alarm has been taken down. A serious fire safety issue (considering recent incident at nearby site), reported it to the owner - blamed previous people who had stayed. Although they are responsible for ensuring it’s up at all times. The Caravan smelt stale and fusty, marks on settees, carpets and mattress covers. Batteries didn’t work in the remote for the tv. Shower head broken. All reported during the stay in an attempt for the owner to put it right. No ownership at all. The owner tried to make money out of me by selling site passes that were cheaper to buy in person on site. To top all this off, despite trying to help the owner by improving conditions for other people, I left a jacket in a cupboard. I know I left it. I asked if she would be kind enough to post it out and I would pay for postage, of which was agreed. After weeks of chasing I was then told ‘it hadn’t been found’. To be clear - I hadn’t lost it… I had simply forgotten to take it out of a wardrobe. It was most definitely there, and it was found by the ‘cleaning team’ (said in the loosest of terms) but then it wasn’t found?! I have never written a negative review before, but after trying to support someone in their small business, to then have my generosity taken advantage of by having money made out of me (see other people’s reviews where she has done the same) and then have my belongings kept… I think the least I can do is prevent others from the same experience.

Despite this we were only there one night and we enjoyed ourselves.

The property was ok.

Cleanliness could be better. The windows were dirty. The cooker had grease streaks on it and under the beds had not been cleaned in some time. The other areas were all clean. There were no wine glasses only pint sized.

The van is located in a quiet area of Coastfields, but could do with an access gate to get to the nearby shops and pubs (not the owners fault at all!).

Spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Probably the cleanest caravan I've ever stayed in. Absolutely spotless. Clean duvets and pillows with protective covers on. I've stayed in a few caravans with stained bedding before but this was immaculate. Our only issue was a day without heating or hot water because the gas ran out but these things happen. The lady that owns the caravan is very helpful.

Overall an enjoyable stay

Good location

Difficult to find accommodation, unable to operate heating as there were no instructions therefore were cold. Had to contact owner as no email received with code to get into property, therefore didn’t know had to take bedding and towels.

Absolutely nothing

The whole caravan was filthy. There were stains all over the seats and one guest got wet trousers from sitting on the sofa. All the single beds had mattress covers that were stained. The double bed had no mattress cover and the mattress was stained. Food all over the radiators. Dirty pans in dirty cupboards. Advertised as strict covid cleaning regime! The owner then lied and said we were late checking out and tried to charge us £50

Beautiful caravan in the perfect location, a quiet section of the park away from young families, which as teenage lads we all appreciated. Communication with the owners was spot on and we weren't at all left disappointed, the hiring of a private van is actually better than going through the holiday camp and that van hasn't seen the last of us!

It's not fair to call this a criticism but we took our own towels and bedsheets at the warning of the proprietor that none would be provided, we loved our stay and perhaps in the future the owners would consider providing these things. (But that is really pulling at straws, we really enjoyed our stay)
