There was a problem with the lock box which I was unable to access. We couldn’t work out if it was me or the keys inside which had jammed the mechanism.other than that, great. Everything else was excellent.

Holme Valley Cottage in Holmfirth
Very pleasant and quiet location. Very clean and well thought out accommodation with wonderful views. The bed I used was very comfortable and the bedding was of good quality. The bathroom had plenty of toiletries such as hand wash and various No7 creams and lotions. There was a comprehensive welcome pack and the cupboards were well stocked including niceties such as sauces and basic medical provisions. Spacious private parking outside. Well maintained garden with decent size lawn for kids.
In all an excellent stay which was very peaceful and comfortable and I highly recommend a stay at this Cottage 9/10
Not what I didn't like just points for improvement. The outside light did not work. I could not find a bottle opener. The stairs are very steep with a one step well at the top. The front of the parking bay could have a curb to stop wheels from any overshoot.

Lovely quiet cottage, well-equipped, very comfortable beds and nice little garden to relax in. Grateful that they had set up a sofa bed in the main bedroom so our two kids didn’t have to share a double bed. Also a welcome tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and wine -a lovely touch.
Good views across the valley. Easy walking distance down the valley to a pub (the Farmer’s Arms) and a good length walk (25mins) into Holmfirth for a great selection of restaurants, pubs and shops. Also a park and play area just across the road (1min walk) -great for small kids.
It needs proper blinds in the bedrooms -we had to hang towels up to block out a reasonable amount of light (sunrise in the UK in early June is 4.45am!)
