Cool until the fireplace kicked in. Bedrooms and bathrooms are cold, bring slippers.

Lovely, private property on a secure golf and trout estate. Access into and out of the property was easy enough and house itself was at a less developed part of the estate with lovely panoramic views of the mountains. House itself was spacious and well equipped in every respect and lots of room for individual privacy if you needed. Host was quickly responsive to our few enquiries/requests. Surroundings well maintained and given size of the estate could put in a few long early morning and late evening walks in very pleasant surroundings. The village of Clarens was a few minutes up the road and lovely spot to explore and plenty of restaurant options, while Golden Gate National Park was only a short drive in the opposite direction offering a range of short walks (some quite arduous) and Clarens Conservancy (in the village) offers some short and longer walks. Certainly if the chance arises we will be back!
