Delightful historic property

Beautiful room in an old and centrally located house. Stylish furnishings and a very comfortable bed. We would like to have stayed longer! We had never visited Bourges before and knew little about it, but what a beautiful city centre.

Usually, we like to cook for ourselves but this time we decided to eat out, which was a good decision as cooking facilities are limited. You could put together a rudimentary meal with a two-ring hob, microwave, kettle and toaster.

Comfortable, large room with character of old building in great location for exploring the old town.

Since the property is distant from the primary property, the system of a code for entry to the building and having the room key in the door was convenient.

It would have been nice to be able to have 2 keys, perhaps the second one left inside the room.

Beautifully appointed accommodation with everything you need.

Location was central and also quiet. The building was historical and had been beautifully restored. lovely wooden hand rails and timber flooring etc. Also, because of history of place, we got a free 30 minute tour of the main building from a lovely member of staff Sisten. She was so knowledgeable and her English was great. We learned so much and it was a really wonderful experience and a highlight of our time.

I don't have anything negative to say.

Week ender in Bourges

The property is a serviced apartment in an old town house. Difficult to describe it accurately in a short review but the property's own description on Booking.com is accurate. We had booked one apartment but were moved to a bigger apartment because of a plumbing problem in the original. I don't know the original price of the upgraded apartment. Very comfortable and spacious for two, with A/C in the main room. Bath with shower attachment. All high spec. Communication with the manager was efficient and we found the place easily. Our usual practice, following bitter past experience, is to park near to a new property and recce. on foot so I could assess the on-site parking without holding up the traffic. The property is conveniently situated in an old part of town close to cafes, restaurants and other tourist facilities. The downside is that the approach is along narrow routes with a warren of one-way and pedestrianised streets so that it's best to park the car and go everywhere on foot. The sat. nav. didn't cope very well at all. Our experience is that the best approach is from the south-west end opposite the entrance to the rue Fernault from the Rives d'Auron.

There is a lot of street noise late at night. Partly traffic and partly loud conversation from home-going revellers. Part of the problem is the traffic lights just along the road which generate a lot of engine noise as well as music from car radios etc. This means that the windows have to remain shut and this, in turn means stuffy rooms. I would suggest that the management invest in fans in the bed rooms to keep the air circulating.

The kitchenette is a great idea, but the equipment is set on a high shelf so you need to be tall to reach it. I think it is dangerous to have any of it at this height, but the kettle is potentially the most dangerous.

A trip back in time!

The room was simply stunning - truly a piece of history. Despite this, the room had all the modern amenities, and the bathroom especially was spacious, clean, and new. The beds were large and comfortable, and we had everything we needed to enjoy the pleasant city and the room's historical atmosphere.

Door into the apartment (upper door) doesn’t close properly so anyone sleeping on the sofa bed is kept awake by the hall light turning on an off (there was no way to turn it off). Ended up wrapping a blanket around the door to try and block the light out. Would be good to leave a few tea bags as well as coffee capsules.

We had a very nice apartment on the top floor of an old house in the city centre. It had ample space and was very nicely furnished. Big bathroom and a little kitchen.

The apartment is under the roof and might get hot in summer. Look out for the roof beams, or you might stumble on them

En déplacement à Bourges pour une conférence et une exposition consacrées au Franciscain de Bourges , d’où le choix de la chambre « Le Franciscain » ,…à "La Maison d’Aristide »pour deux nuitées . Les remarques ci-dessous concernent ce séjour et cette chambre AVANT - Communication -Parfaite : donne envie de goûter au produit , ce qui est le but . MAIS : aucun accueil autre que numérique sauf de vouloir régler sur place la place de parking et de vous rendre au château de Panette , où vous serez agréablement reçu . PENDANT - Accès : - Entrée du porche du parking difficilement accessible sans manoeuvres sur la rue, car stationnement sans débattement ,ni de véhicules de chaque coté de celui ci - Chambre - Literie : Parfaite - Lampe : Faux contact dans la lampe de chevet - Douche /Toilettes - Très exigüe, - Cuisine : - Verres, couverts tasse et bols totalement dépareillés . - En désaccord avec l’image que souhaite donner l’établissement - Micro onde, bouilloire, grille pain, machine à café , sur étagère et difficiles d’accès - Nécessité de grimper sur une chaise . - Machine à café sale,, capsule usagée à l’intérieur , eau restante dans le réservoir - Poubelle : La commande poussoir ne fonctionne pas - Nécessité de mettre les mains pour l’ouvrir : Question d’hygiène .. - Prise de courant près du plan de travail : - Ne fonctionne pas - CONCLUSION : Des corrections sont nécessaires qui aideront à faire un pas de plus vers l’aboutissement de votre projet et la totale satisfaction de vos clients . Seul bémol : la VMC de la chambre un peu trop sonore et deux capsules pour le cafe était insuffisant ( 4 capsules aurait été parfait !)

Wir werden dort bestimmt nicht wieder übernachten.

Freundliches Personal am Empfang. Weitergehende Fragen durfte man aber nicht stellen, weil die Informationen über z.B. TV-Anschluss nicht vorlagen. Dusche war renoviert, funktionierte einwandfrei.

Alles ziemlich runtergekommen, krumm und schief. Keine deutschen TV-Sender. Besteck im Mini-Küchenbereich sehr spartanisch, z.B. keine Teelöffel, keine gescheiten Messer. Parkplatz schwer zu identifizieren, da sehr schlecht markiert. Eingangstor zum Parkplatz stand die ganze Nacht offen, obwohl ein Code für den Zugang zum Hinterhofparkplatz zugesandt wurde. Ich parkte neben einem Sandhaufen. Für zwei Nächte wurden 30 € berechnet für einen ungesicherten Parkplatz. Im Hof des Hinterhauses zu parken war aber richtig, sonst gäbe es Parkprobleme! Alles sehr eng!
