Lovely place and stay.

Location and how comfortable the flat is. The parking space is lovely too

A shame the heater is off and you have to put it on as a guest when you arrive (it was quite cold when we arrived and the flat took a while to feel comfy) The streets can be blocked and they don’t always reply on the intercome; we got lucky with a city minibus passing and opening as it would have been quite awkward to park the car temporarily and walk to the flat for the magnet with a toddler and a dog in tow. The bed could use some new pillows as the ones provided are very flat and not comfortable

The position was excellent. And the apartment was very comfortable.

The heating wax on very high and it took us a long time to located the thermostat. Maybe mention in the instructions how to moderate the temperature.

Complete one off stay in ancient building in the historic centre of Bourges with excellent communication from host .

Distinctive and interesting ancient building tastefully furnished, in the historic centre of Bourges with shops , cafes and buildings of interest nearby . Comfortable and well equipped . Excellent communication with host. Dedicated parking in the enclosed courtyard right outside the property .

There is a bollard in the road to access the historic centre and we couldn’t get the fob to work ( maybe because we were in an English van and on the other side of the road .) If you are visiting you need to drive very close to the bollard and aim the remote at it from the centre ! We really struggled but the host was brilliant in trying to assist remotely !

Prime location.

Easy walk to Cathedral. Several hopping restaurants nearby. Apartment is decorated brightly and with some cool artwork.

You have to navigate past a retractable bollard to get to the parking spot. It's a bit tricky. You have to pull your car up close then hit a button on the remote that you retrieve from a lock box. Works, but took me a minute to sort it out.

It was homely, personal, and a home away from home. Had everything you needed. The space was huge for an apartment, and location was amazing. Right in the heart of the city. I would recommend this place.

We booked some weeks before and arrived at the time we said. But after some time and telephoning they said we were an unexpected booking and we had to wait for the femme to menage to clean etc. That's enough for a bad rating. The flat was nice but the hot water was not enough for a bath.

Great location and spacious apartment with accommodating staff

Great location with private, secured parking and a view onto the historical monument/museum housing the artwork of a local artist. The apartment is also a short walk to other nearby sights, like the Palace and Cathedral. The apartment is very large, with a seperate entryway with a kitchen, a living room with a futon that can serve as a bed, and then the bedroom. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a tub and sink, with the toilet in its seperate room, connected to both the bedroom and the living room. The staff were receptive and answered our messages and were able to provide us with a standing fan, which had apparently been stolen from the apartment by an earlier customer. We were staying during a heatwave, so the fan was very helpful and we were glad that a new one could be provided, since it was/is listed as an amentity/feature of the apartment.

The apartment was not very clean and the linens on the bed (pillows, mattress covers) had a number of stains on them. We were told to clean up the hairs from our dog and while we did, we noticed a lot of things (hairs, finger/toenails, dust, crumbs) that were already present prior to our stay.

The apartment is nicely located in an nice old building, but it is extremely poor. The bed, the bathroom and the whole appartment and all the finishing, the sheets, the towels is poor. There is nothing in the kitchen, the wifi is complicated to use, ... I friendly asked for an invoice and I did not received any reply or friendly explanation. Just silence. No go.

Not as expected. We learn from our mistakes.

Location was OK.

Most things. We arrived in the property and immediately decided we would write off the amount we had paid and book somewhere else. The bedding was faded and worn. The towels were like sandpaper. It had the feel of student accommodation and looked as though someone had left in a hurry.

Absentee host with no personal touches

Property was well situated in the "old town". Apartment was spacious. WiFi worked well. 1st floor location so windows could be opened at night, which helped as there was no AC.

Host was absent. Communication was via Dropbox file with instruction and txt. He failed to tell us that many of the narrow roads in the area were closed off with raised bollards. Google maps could not help, so we had to work it out for ourselves. When we found the street, it was blocked off with a bollard. Had to press a button and wait for an answer. At third attempt, made contact and bollard was dropped. 20 metres.further property courtyard guarded by electric doors which you access with code. This worked on second attempt. Courtyard contains letterbox with another access code to obtain the apartment code. Finally, you can gain access. If you have a large car you can forget about parking in the courtyard as there is insufficient space to turn into. Biggest issue is that the picture of the property is Museum Esteve and not your apartment location. You are situated across the road in a rather tired and unassuming two story building that has no character. This was misleading advertising. Only other txt from host was one enquiring as to what time we would be checking out.

Authentic French stay

Real French decor and location you don’t get at most other accommodations. Brought a smile to my face when we arrived at the typical run down exterior that the French excel in. Inside very comfortable and spacious with everything needed for a relaxing trouble free stay. central location within the barriers - need to stop and press the button on the barrier to ask the operator to drop it. Follow the instructions sent to you by the owner and you can’t go wrong.

Breakfast not included but lots of cafes nearby so no problem for us. Location is amazing, in the middle of historic quarter such that we wished we had not arranged to stay for longer and explore this beautiful city.

Excellent, quiet, city centre apartment - but see my edited comments post stay

What an amazing location and building! This is a first floor room in the very centre of Bourges - easy walking to all the old town and with parking within the courtyard of the building, I only stayed one night as I was travelling to Dieppe the following day - but I would like to return and spend a long weekend and explore the city from here.

** Please be aware that this owner is EXTREMELY uncooperative. I very foolishly left an expensive jacket at the property when I stayed in January. Despite all my efforts - and the suport of Booking.Com, 5 weeks later, he still has not posted it to me, even though he agrees he has the jacket and I have repeatedly offered to pay for the postage. My last call with Booking.Com was just now (22nd February 2023) with Booking,Com - they emailed the owner on my behalf and he has told them he is being harrassed by me. It appears, that as Booking.Com are unable to take any action, I will have to report this to my travel insurance company as a "loss" and bear the cost of the excess. And all because, for an unknown reason -this owner has decided to not post/keep my jacket - its very sad. The directions fromn the hosts are very detailed - don't be put off! Its really simple ................ just pop the address into your navigation, you'll meander your way into the heart of Bruges and arrive at the very tall, blue, double gates of the courtyard where you can park. Its a narrow street - so its a little easier to drive past and reverse in. Once inside the courtyard, there is plenty of parking space.

The Location was fabulous

No bath fizzers as stated, not very clean visble dust, dirty mirror etc. I cut my foot on Glass shard on the floor. The fold out chair bed was really uncomfortable you could feel the wood battening.

Lovely stop over for us on the way back up from the Langdoc to Calais.

Good Stay at the centre of Bourges!

The location was great thank you and the property very interesting, we struggled a little bit with the sleeper coach in the lounge to get it down. It was a very short stay! We wanted to leave you a picture but there were not any film left for your camera!

We normally leave everything good after we stay at a place but taking out all the trash and everything was a bit unusual.
