Santa Croce Garden Apartment

The apartment was great. We spent the evenings in the large outdoor patio before walking to a local restaurant for dinner. Our host was amazing! She met us when we arrived and provided great tips and restaurant options. Accommodation is close to beautiful restaurants and shops in every direction. There is an express superette with everything we needed, a 1-minute walk from the apartment. We walked to Ponte Vecchio, and it took about 18 minutes.

Excellent central location with close access to all Florence cultural sites. Parking in inner Florence is challenging , however the owner guided us to an excellent secure parking facility which was 2-3 minutes walk to the property The apartment was spotlessly clean and very welcoming . The bedrooms were excellent , clean and comfortable . The apartment kitchen was well presented with all excellent cooking facilities . On arrival you are welcomed with nice touches for the weary travellers, well thought out . The garden is very secure and comfortable , great area for children and dog , although the garden furniture and planting areas need a little attention Overall highly recommended.

The location was ok.. not super close to the main areas, but still walkable easily. The property manager, Anna, was so kind and went above and beyond to replace a light bulb upon our check in. She was sweet and kind and met us when we arrived.

This property has so much potential, but I would not stay there again because it is so outdated that it felt old and dirty. It was clean as far as the main areas are concerned, but cobwebs on lights and lamp shades and floors didn’t feel super clean. Everything is super old in this unit and it is way overpriced for such old amenities. Beyond that they set the AC really high, 78 degrees was our temp. In order to adjust they need to enter the room. That’s very inconvenient. There was a used old sponge in the sink. Washer stinks badly. And we couldn’t open windows even though it was cooler outside bc a ton of mosquitoes got in and my son got 16 big bites after staying here and he is struggling while we finish our trip. Oh, and the shower goes from a normal temp to extremely hot water then when you adjust it teeny bit lower, it gets freezing cold. Very frustrating. I informed the owner and she offered to come re set AC, but by the time we got her message we were home and just toughed it out. She would not help to make any refund and didn’t seem to care too much. She communicated well, but didn’t offer anything for our dis satisfaction. Also, there is no real sofa bed. And the pics look ten times nicer than what it is in reality.
