Lovely 3 bedroom house with free parking & garden

The TV kept turning itself off which was aggravating

Next to petrol station which was good to grab basic essentials.

The sofa bed sheets didn’t smell very good and wasn’t a comfortable sleep. Additionally, multiple people said they woke up with bite marks on their legs.

On a personal level felt the property benefit from having a conservatory.

It was easy to reach the places we wanted to visit. Perfect to use as a base for all the day trips we had planned. Near to local shops and petrol station right opposite.

Location was good near to the wedding venue we were attending.

Well fenced garden for our dog to run around in and nearby park for dog walking. Easy parking on site.

Lack of kitchen equipment, not even a tin opener. No bedside tables or lights provided.

Home from home, good accommodation, clean and many little extras.

Good communication for arrival instructions etc. House was clean and served as a good base for our visit.

The location was great for us visiting family. Parking right outside . Good local services. Good size secure garden. Dog friendly.

Unfortunately this property did not meet our expectations. We booked for 3 nights but decided to leave after 2, feeling unable to complete our trip . As soon as we entered there was a smell of stale smoke although the rules are against smoking. The owner said it must have been previous guests . There are several areas which are in need of attention . The stairs and one of the bedroom carpets are badly stained, The bathroom is in need of attention to be adequate. The toilet seat is loose and needs replacing as does the shower gripper. There was only one coat hanger ( left by a previous guest) in 3 wardrobes and no drawers in the bedrooms. There are areas in the kitchen that require deep cleaning including the fridge and utensils like sharp knives, chopping boards are missing. The washing machine is not plumbed in and the door seal covered in mould. The owner said this is not listed as an available item so it really should be removed. There are no side tables in the living room. The only outdoor seating is a small bench which looks like it has been used by smokers as there was a jar with cigarette ends in it. There are no mirrors part from mirror tiles at the bottom of the stairs, not even the bathroom. We did communicate with Booking .Com customer support and the owner about our complaints. The owner was responsive and recognises several of the issues need to be addressed. I am not sure the owner has visited the property recently. We felt the price we paid would have given a better standard of accommodation. The owners response was that the house can accommodate upto 10 people ( one bathroom) so it gives good value. The number of guests should not determine the cleanliness of the property. We are used to making compromises with dog friendly accommodation but not to this level. This is the first time we have used this site for an individual house. If it had been a hotel room we would definitely have asked for a different room.

Really lovely house felt like a home away from a home. Super spacious and great location- easy to find and great parking, only thing is No mirrors which our complaining teenager wasn't happy about 😂 but really lovely stay xx

Nice house, good location. Ease of access. Off-street parking. Provision of washing up liquid and cloth, tea-towel, soap and toilet roll. Nice bedding. Beds were good. Good provision of pans, crockery, mugs and glasses. Appreciated having plastic cups available.

With a few small tweaks it could be so much better, which was frustrating (e.g. No teaspoons, scissors, sharp knives or chopping board - which just made things so much harder than necessary for prepping packed lunches for outings, or dinners. No mirrors (other than the tiles on the stairs), no coffee tables or just somewhere to put a cup down if in the lounge, a smaller dining table would be much more functional - the big one up against the wall just meant we couldn't really sit round it for dinner, can't access wardrobes but also no surfaces to put anything on (bed-side tables or similar)

Good response to questions. Warm and cosy. Comfy beds and sofas. Clean and tidy.

Not many kitchen utensils, couldn't find any chopping knives, spatulas or teaspoons.
