Mercure became my first choice now

I liked everything. I was surprised that haven’t heard a sound despite the room was next to elevator. Nice view, parking, friendly stuff.

Excellent view of the castle from the room, a nice surprise in the morning after a late arrival

Parking included as per booking.com but none available on arrival - luckily a small carpark up the road for free overnight but had to be out before 7:30 or buy a ticket

Alternative city for accommodation

The location is quite convenient, very close to the highway to Bern. The facilities were really good. The room was very comfortable, modern and clean. The breakfast was contundent. The staff is very friendly. I recommend this hotel without any doubt.

Nice hotel in Fribourg

Very nice staff and nice room

The air conditioner in our room was on and it was not possible to adjust the temperature manually. The hotel staff did their best to help but it was not fixed at the end. The hotel entrance has a couple of stairs and not convenient for strollers or big luggage.

Practical, Clean & Renovated Hotel near the City Center

Renovated, Clean, Modern & Convenient Hotel near the Historic Gate, 10 Min Walk to the City Center. Bed is Confy, Breakfast is great with local specialities. Parking on site available, has charging docks for e-Mobility, 24h Desk, Complimentary Water in the Room. Good choice for Fribourg! I Always stay here, will come back, nothing to complain.

Not suitable for couples/maybe ok for solo travellers when temperature is not so high

The staff were kind and helpful who gave us a fan at least.

Did not meet my 4 star hotel expectations. It was more of a 3 star. NO AC in the room, impossible to be comfortable when temperature is 30+ Extremely cramped room with very little space around the bed. out-dated room style.

Staff was very nice, room was clean.

It was VERY hot in the room, no air-condition, big window with sun shining almost all day long. Additional they repair the parking so we hade a lot of noise. We got water to the room only in the first day (and stayed two nights).

As of April 2023 this (old, has to be said)hotel is under renovation. While no prior warning at the reservation is available, for the FULL fee you get a room and a barely decent breakfast in a very depressing basement room. Otherwise, this 4* hotel at this stage offers NO: - reception - clean entrance - lobby - restaurant or bar - dinner service

Pretty good location in Fribourg, room size of the Junior suite is generous, room was clean

Very cold in the room, would not recommend staying in such hotel if you are not used to low temperatures during sleeping. Breakfast was poor, without any hot food except some boiled eggs - for a Mercure 4 stars rated hotel in Switzerland, the overall experience was bad.

Stopover in Fribourg (CH)

The location of the hotel is perfect , close tot the old city and the perfect location for a visit in the city. Staff on the hotel is very helpful and friendly , breakfast is more then good , ifyou can't find a thing then you have not looked well enough

The rooms were outdated for the price you are paying.. old fashioned furniture , beds are hard and this is one of the view hotels where you still get a room key as in key.
