A Swiss Night at Lago Maggiore

Here is a convenient, quite and comfortable place to stay near the northeastern shore of Lago Maggiore. A nicely restored stone building with a beautiful little garden for breakfast and a great view of the vineyards of Monti di Motti. We arrived on Sunday night and found a great Italian restaurant (Ristorante Rotonda👍👍) a few minutes walk from the lodging. The Host was cheerful and had a plentiful breakfast buffet prepared. The area is amazing and I'm sure we will return!

Cozy little guesthouse

Easy checkin (key waiting for me in an envelope when I arrived). Pleasant hosts serving a nice continental breakfast. (Note that they do not speak English. Your choice of German or Italian.) Easy walk from the Gordola train station. Local train and bus free with booking.

The room was comfortable on a cool spring day if you kept the window open. In summer it would get very stuffy.

The main issues we had was that there wasn’t really anything nearby, and it was a very hot time of year. There was no air conditioning nor was there even a fan in the room.

a bit hard to find the entrance to the apartment after you get your keys at front door and no one is around. consists of two bedrooms, there’s a living area missing. very close window-to-window with neighboring apartment.

Clean room and bathroom, friendly owner. Gordola is a nice location to stay in when visiting Locarno.

Rooms are not numbered, but named after the zodiac sign (there is a small zodiac sign drawing next to the rooms door). It was not easy to recognize the room name from a hand writing note left in the envelope with a room key. Be ready to know zodiac signs in italien language! Our room was on a ground floor and I did not like there was a smoking area just under the window.

Gutes, einfaches Frühstück, sehr freundlicher Gastgeber, sehr sauberes Zimmer. Mit dem kostenlosen Ticino-Ticket (ausgestellt vom Hotel) freie Bus und Bahnfahrten innerhalb des Kantons Tessin. Dazu die sehr gute Anbindung (1 Minute zur Bushaltestelle; 3 Minuten zum Zug)
