The picture provide were not as the lodge was and far from jaw dropping as advertised There was no blind at the kitchen window but there had obviously been one there. Getting information to get into the lodge was very poor

Cleaning weekend 😒

It’s was filthy has to but cleaning products to clean windows was full of cobwebs and dirt . Bathrooms smelt of urine 1 bedroom needed vacuuming but couldn’t get vac to work . Cannot believed they thought this would be acceptable. Tried contacting host but didn’t respond to message .

Stunning location. Cabin was good size. Hot tub was great.

Broken outside furniture on arrival. Broken door handle. Bathroom door didn’t lock and stay closed. No oven glove and very limited dishes when cooking for family of 5. Main door would not lock securely. Host made double booking and another family parked up on our second day. Misleading photo here suggested there would be a gym, but no gym on site for 5 years apparently. Gym nearby cost over £10/visit and our teenage son was disappointed. Swimming pool on site required a leisure pass costing £13.50 per person for the stay, which was also not mentioned in the detail here. Host acknowledged these issues but did not address the main maintenance problems which we flagged or the additional costs we incurred on leisure activities, due to misleading information and the lack of transparency re costs, despite several communications from us and opportunities to do so in a timely manner.

Perfect location for a quiet relaxing stay well placed on Windermere for visits to close villages.

It was in a perfect location/spot by the lake. It was so nice, hot tub was amazing and bed very comfortable, clean bedding and lots of home comforts ie toilet tools, washing up liquid, washing up cloths and sponge. I loved that. The lodge was well placed in between Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness. We had amazing weather when we went so it made our trip even better.

I was not told that the lodge was located at White Cross Holiday park where you had to get a barrier code to get down to the lodge. The communication regarding this was hopeless. If a text message was issued with exact location would be handy. The sat nav takes you to another place which was quite close. But if you are not familiar with an area this can be difficult. I had to call the owner of the lodge to establish the lockbox code as this was not given in advance of the holiday even though the money was sent a week before. After a very long drive to get to this lodge, to have stress at this point of the day was annoying.

Towels were damp on arrival, inside windows had not been cleaned with children’s finger prints all over them, oven had not been cleaned, barbecue had not been cleaned if ever! Outside furniture cushions were green, mouldy and soaking wet stuffed in a cupboard, no charger for the vacuum cleaner which was flat, no board games as advertised. We contacted reception and they said someone would bring fresh towels and clean the oven but they didn’t arrive, false advertising as a Jaw Dropping Lodge!

Perfect location. very clean. Lovely big lounge/kitchen/diner, perfect for family time. Clean modern bathrooms. Very well equipped kitchen. Clean bedding & towels in every bedroom. Host very accommodating when I called with questions. Great hot tub with views out onto the lake. Easy parking next to the lodge.

Mattresses need an upgrade, especially the singles, not the most comfortable. Toaster is struggling & needs to go to toaster heaven.

Relaxing stay.

First the view of the lake from the property was fantastic. The lodge is set back just from the lake. The hot tub was great and also had the lake view. The living room & kitchen space was large. The dining table was massive that’s a plus. Plenty of pots, plates, cutlery, glasses and cookings implements. The stay was perfect. 😀

A dreadful week from start to finish!

The location of the park within the lakes is central.

If you want to go away and be treated to groundwork’s all week 3 metres infront of the lodge without being informed then this is the place to go! 8-5 everyday of our stay there was digging, drilling, vans and up to 8 men onsite at once point working on the pad infront of us. Spoke to owner who negated responsibility of any form and told us to ‘take it up with the park’. No apology, no check in to see if the works were ongoing or offering a solution despite raising the issue immediately with them on the Tuesday morning. We couldn’t enjoy the lodge, the hot tub or decking during the day. The lodge itself was dirty! Cobewebs everywhere, splashes up the wall and round the windows, on doors, the frames were filthy, the internal doors had splashes up them. Crumbs in the cutlery tray, dirty glasses and plates. The hot tub was never cleaned despite information saying it would be done daily. The swimming pool on site, you had to purchase a pass of £15 for the week - not notified to us before and had to ask owner. We weren’t supplied the lodge number or key code before arrival so had to call once sitting in the reception car park.

The property was really nice. it had everything we needed. however, there was workmen right outside the lodge the whole of our stay so we couldn’t relax or use the hot tub or stay in the lodge during the day as they were digging up concrete for 4 days and the drilling was unbearable. not the relaxing stay we were hoping for!

The hot tub was amazing, the lodge had everything you needed, a home from home.

It could have been better explained that this wasn’t a park Dean property, it was privately owned, we had no communication with the hosts when though we sent numerous messages, it was us who had to contact them whenever we needed anything, we didn’t know where to find the keys or the code etc.

The breakfast was very nice at the restaurant and the location was perfect

I wasnt provided with the location of the accommodation and correct key code so I had to call the owner on arrival. On arrival the booking.com description of the property showed a photo of a gym but their wasn’t one on the site, which was a bit disappointing as it was one of the reasons we chose this property.

Wonderful break

Excellent location, very close to the lake. Very well furnished with two very good bathrooms. Ideal for families and hot tub is a great bonus. If there was a negative it would just be that the beds could be comfier. Apart from that an excellent lodge, would certainly recommend.

Jaw droppingly awful! Please don’t book this lodge.

The site itself is in a great location and the staff within the reception, bar and leisure facilities were great. They were particularly helpful when the owner of the property was not responding to basic health and safety problems.

Where to start… it was “jaw dropping” in the worst possible way! We arrived to a fly infested, smelly and unclean lodge. Not sure when the previous guests left and the bluebottles moved in! As we had arrived after a long drive with two young children and a punctual Asda delivery we had no option but to clean the communal area ourselves while we unpacked the food delivery and waited for the owner to send a cleaning team. A disgruntled but friendly member of staff carried out a surface clean with the promise of a deep clean the next day. This never happened. Apparently we were meant to know we were to leave the only key for access?! The kitchen was a health and safety nightmare. Pots were burnt, dirty, rusty and unusable. They were eventually replaced by the next day after we were forced to eat out for dinner on our arrival night. ALL crockery and utensils were dirty with caked on food and stains. We had to clean all of these ourselves along with the filthy drawer liners (not our idea of fun after we discovered the dishwasher didn’t work properly) The previous guest’s food was frozen into the freezer drawers, the fridge was dirty and missing all the door shelves, barbecue was filthy with food debris and old coals. The hot tub was dirty and with a matt of someone’s hair in the filter. The cleaner’s 14 year old son assured us it had been drained and cleaned before we arrived and that it was simply because guests don’t know how to treat facilities that the cover was torn, ill-fitting and with broken handles. Apparently he has a certificate for using the correct chemicals and somehow knew it was fully serviced despite nobody knowing we were arriving. Cigarette ash littered the decking but we couldn’t sweep it all due to there being only a broken brush. The replacement outdoor cushions were stained and didn’t fit the furniture after the original ones were removed by the cleaner as they were saturated with rain from previous guests leaving them out.

Perfect place to come relax put your feet up unwind your mind just what we all needed

Location was brilliant it’s was also very peaceful. Amazing view when you sat outside for a cup of tea nice having the hot tub to relax in.

Mattress was not comfy on any of the bed we all said the same for each bed . Shower door wouldn’t stay shut . But I’m sure if these little things got sorted everything would have been jaw dropping.

Disappointing- we had my son, daughter-in-law and 5 year old granddaughter from Australia staying with us and we thought

There was no welcome pack (there was a photograph on booking.com of a welcome pack) no instructions/ details about facilities ie.opening times of pool, nearby restaurants, attractions. The dishwasher was full (had been on a wash cycle) and there were wet towels in the washing machine. There was no spare toilet rolls, just enough washing up liquid for one bowl of dishes and no condiments like salt and pepper, cooking oil etc. There were only 3 (odd) wine glasses, the shower door in the en-suite did not shut properly and there were no spare blankets. To top it all we had no water due to frozen pipes two mornings on the run - I realize that the weather is beyond your control but the pipes were inadequately lagged and there were no instructions regarding this happening. The swimming pool and changing rooms are dated and in need of an upgrade, sticky tape on the steps to the jacuzzi and dirty changing rooms.

Cleanliness and location

1. The heater wasn't working the whole night 2. Every property is supposed to clean after the guests leave, the cleaning staff came and started shouting at us for cleaning basic stuff like pizza boxes on the table or empty bottles. There was only one bin bag in the whole property and we tried cleaning too. I stopped it when she started shouting at me. It's pathetic that a cleaning staff whose job is to clean shouts at the guests to clean the place. If they're so keen on not cleaning then better not renting the property. 3. They forced us to leave immediately because we were only 15 mins late. Didn't even let us take our luggage properly. 4. I'm not the kind of guest who causes a fuss but when we didn't make an issue of no heating in the rooms in 3 degree centigrade then they should have been a bit more cordial. Pathetic staff and management. Please don't book it. They were fighting for basic stuff
