Jaw-Dropping Lodge with Hot Tub on Lake Windermere

Stayed here before and have another stay booked. Would benefit massively with a lick of paint and some nice garden furniture.

Ideally situated to explore the local area, views are spectacular. The hot tub was relaxing and much needed after walks. Everything you need in the luxury Lodge from space to comfort. Communication was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good entertainment for little one's and food was tasty with a bar was a bonus. Swimming pool enjoyable. Enjoyed the walks with the dogs, lots of rabbits, ducks and birds. Would definitely visit again.

Location was amazing - sitting central for Ambleside, Grassmere, Bowness and Windermere. The location on the park was also exceptional - you are so close to the lake and the views from the hot tub/decking were amazing. The property was very spacious too - more than plenty for our party of four (and one dog!)

The overall cleanliness of the property. It looked great when you first arrive but then you start to see issues with the cleaning, lot of cobwebs, dirt on the floors. Unfortunately the BBQ was full of used cigarette ends from the previous guests and not cleaned out by them. To be fair to the owners they did get straight back to me when o raised this, also luckily we weren’t planning on using it. I do have to say though the linen and towels were very clean and fresh - no complaints at all there. As others have said in their reviews it just needs a bit of an upgrade with some of the stuff in and out of the property. There’s some new garden furniture on the decking which looks great but they kept some of the old furniture out there too which really could do with binning (we also found some of their disgarded garden furniture dumped down the side of the decking under the undergrowth). The WiFi is also really bad - it is so slow, and this affects the use of the tv in the bedroom (you basically can’t use it) It’s a gem of a property for its size and location on the park and if the owners just took on some of the feedback from the reviews it could be a really excellent property on the park. We still had a great week though (Mon-Fri)
