An amazing historical house but with all the modern comforts, settled in a green breathtaking views, a very good location to explore the lake area, it was a unique and unforgettable experience. The house was very clean and had all the equipment you need. It was very spacious for our family of 5. You can easily cook, do your laundry ext. A warm recommendation to the old post office caffe just across the corner.

An Amazing Lakeland Home !

Highly recommended! Low House Farm was the best holiday home I have ever stayed in! Everything was impeccable from the setting, the history, the facilities the bed, the bedding , showers , heating , fire place , everything was great. We had the best time here and feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here. Low house farm is now the only place we will want to stay when in the Lake District. Waking up to the views across Troutbeck Valley listening to the birds and watching the sheep on the fells was wonderful! There were lots of walks to take from the doorstep, a great pub 10- 15 minute easy walk away and, tea rooms across the street what more could you ask for!

A brilliant place full of character

A brilliant home, in a fantastic location, with plenty of space to stretch out. Very well equipped kitchen which is important for us, an off-road parking spot, everything nicely thought out. The house is full of character, and was just the right place for us.

Location, views, walks, history and cosiness mark this wonderful accommodation!

Fabulous location, views of countryside from all windows, was beautifully warm once we accosted a lady on the street to educate us about the warming system and the shower; We enjoyed making an open fire and added to the cosiness of the home; Great space and beautifully appointed bedrooms with very comfy beds; Kitchen has all the needs covered and the most incredibly ancient cupboard built into the wall; The history of the home was a wonderous curiosity for the entire stay; The wonderful walks up Robin's Lane and over to Ambleside and also up to the fell were beautiful - such a treat to be able to have such a great walk at your doorstep without having to get into a car to access it; The cosy Tea House across the road was an added treasure that we did not explore until our final morning - and what a delight full of curios and warm welcoming and informative staff. Our neighbours, we met by chance, were also delightful. Our whole experience could not have been more special. Thanks so much.

We loved the history of the house, it was spacious, warm and cosy and had everything we needed. It was plenty big enough for 6 adults for a long weekend. Lots of walks, the cafe and nice pubs on your doorstep. Communication was great as well. If you want to use the fire, make sure you bring logs and kindling with you. We hope to visit again!

The WiFi didn't work until one of our party managed to reboot it. Without him there would have been little use for our mobile phones. Another member of the party would have wished for a couple more mirrors, but this was a minor gripe.

Beautiful location, property very clean. Plenty of space. Unique, atmospheric property. Great shower and outside space.

Bath a bit chipped around plug hole so opted not to give baby a bath. Didn’t matter as was just a short stay. My mum slept in one of the single beds and found the mattress to be very uncomfortable. Other single bed also not that comfy but my 4-year-old luckily didn’t notice. Not a criticism but stone floors downstairs so wouldn’t recommend this accommodation for toddlers. It was ok for us as we were out most of the day and baby isn’t yet walking.

Lovely stay in Lake District

Beautiful scenery. House has lovely character. Very helpful owners. The children loved the chickens and rabbits coming into the garden. Handy location.

Olde worlde atmosphere in the cottage. Another reviewer noted that the furnishings could be marmitey, but that they liked them, and we did too. They were also comfortable

Washing machine door was stuck, with previous washing inside. Engineer was due call on the Saturday we left the property. Also, the wifi barely worked for the first 24 hours. This was fixed turning the router off and then back on again, after an email conversation with the very helpful owner

A wonderful holiday - thanks

We loved it. The cottage was very original and was in an amazing location with a garden, great views. There was something about the place that made us feel relaxed, probably the connection with nature. It is traditionally and very distinctively furnished in an almost rustic style with antiques, cast iron bath etc, which we really like. It also has really good facilities such as a dishwasher, large fridge freezer, good (v fast) heating and comfortable beds and was really well equipped. The location is very quiet although close to all major attractions in the Lake District and it was good value for money

For us nothing at all. The traditional furnishings and the original features might be a bit marmite to some visitors (not us).

Superb

A quirky old house in a beautiful location. Plenty of walks from there, lots of wildlife, a tea shop close by, shops a little further out but not too far and lots to do in the area on wet days. Beautiful scenery. Great for cycling apart from busy main roads. The history of the house was wonderful so we were glad Jenny had taken time to write about her and her parents life which was fairly similar to mine with many happy holidays spent in the Lake District, even playing monopoly on wet days - fun times.
