Wonderful stay in a special place

Tinakilly Country House is a special place and we absolutely loved our stay. From arrival and walking through the doors into the reception area was just lovely – every room had a calming energy and was tastefully decorated. Our bedroom was incredibly spacious overlooking the side garden with a four poster bed, desk and extra seating area with a sofa. It was furnished mixing old with new and although it was like stepping back in time we just loved it. The bathroom was spacious with a bath and shower. The dining room was equally as impressive with a nice atmosphere. We had dinner which was excellent and very reasonably priced and the breakfast was really good too. The service was exceptional; every single member of staff was attentive and very professional. If you like unique places with a special atmosphere then you will love this place! All in all we would highly recommend staying at Tinakilly, it was a great experience and we are really looking forward to going back.

Gorgeous

We absolutely loved our stay at Tinakilly Country House. After over 35hrs travelling it was a welcome sight, the lady at check-in was so lovely, the room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable I think we slept for 11 hours The shower was great and breakfast was delicious. They even catered for me being Coeliac In all we highly recommend staying at Tinkakilly if you are in Ireland

A lovely night in a historic location

This felt like staying in a historical estate. The room was very spacious with an amazing bathroom.

I like the idea of a four poster bed in theory, just watch out for the wood corners.

Wifi doesn't really work at some parts of the hotel. Our 1st room, it didn't work at all! Then we have changed the room. It is a bit weird that some part of the hotel wifi doesn't work!!

Would stay again, food and friendly staff were great.

Breakfast was very nice, we stayed in a junior suite and it was a good sized room, we had a fabulous dinner and wine.

The shower had very poor pressure.

A very special venue

The garden and grounds are lovely. The staff were very responsive when we remarked about the overwhelming smell of gloss paint in the room, and offered us an alternative.

The restaurant offering was too limited for us. There was a fixed 3-course menu for 45 euros. This might have been a reasonable price for the 3-courses but if you are only wanting a main course appears a little steep.

Overnight stop at a superb hotel

Lovely location and very well maintained property with a very interesting history. Rooms were large and we had a lovely view to the sea. Breakfast was excellent. Would certainly visit again.

Superb

Junior suite was very spacious and clean. Ambience in the hotel was extremely relaxing and pleasant with plenty of fires after a day out in wet and miserable weather

The hotel is very stately looking when you drive up the avenue and see it. Breakfast was good.

There was no information given to us regarding the tv chanels, wifi code, breakfast time, nobody answered the phone when we tried calling reception and when my husband went to reception before 8pm nobody was a available. A waiter told him that the receptionists had already left. For a 4 star hotel the room looks tired. The curtains did not meet when closed (I had to pun them together), the headboard was tatty on in places, the base if the bidet is badly cracked and music was played long after midnight which disturbed our sleep. I emailed 1but received no response.

Lovely relaxing stay

Dinner was lovely, the room was clean and spacious with a fabulous sea view. The grounds are gorgeous to walk and explore and all still so close to dublin by car! The bar and foyer are lovely to relax and soak up the atmosphere of the house.

The food at dinner was lovely but there was a senior waiter who did seem a little scary/gruff/direct to us, but everyone has different personalities or maybe we got him on a bad day.
